A stated post-consumer percentage is the clearest way to describe recycled content. For compostable components, ASTM D6400 or EN 13432 is the standard to name.

We document which of these apply to your build so the box can print the specific claim with the right mark. A line like made from recycled paperboard, with the percentage beside it, holds up. A loose word like green with nothing behind it tends to draw complaints.

A plastic laminate often does in practice, because many curbside programs won't take film-bonded board. Recyclable only counts where the facilities exist, and laminated board frequently has nowhere to go.

Aqueous coating is our usual swap. It gives the print scuff protection and a matte or satin feel while keeping the box in the paper stream. We can still laminate this style if a brand insists, and in that case we'd word the claim accordingly.

Moulded pulp inserts do the job foam used to do, and they go in the same recycling stream as the carton. The pulp is formed to the product shape, so it holds items apart and takes the knocks in transit.

For lighter items, a folded paperboard insert cut from the same board as the box is often enough. Keeping every component paper-based means the disposal instruction on the pack can be one short line.

We print with water-based and soy inks and finish with aqueous coating, so the chemistry stays consistent across the whole box. CMYK and PMS both work with these inks on kraft, SBS and recycled paperboard.

Hot foil, spot UV and soft-touch lamination are available too. Each adds a non-paper layer, so when recyclability is part of the pitch we'd keep them small, say a foil logo on the lid instead of a laminated wrap.

Yes, with texture and structure doing the work that heavy laminates usually do. Uncoated kraft or recycled paperboard with a crisp deboss, a one-colour print and a well-fitted insert looks considered and keeps the carton fully paper.

Several prestige brands have moved this way on purpose. A brand that clearly thought about its material tends to be read as careful about everything else, and an unlaminated surface feels better in the hand than most people expect.

We size it tight to the product, because right-sizing cuts board and freight more reliably than any material swap. Send the item dimensions and we draw a custom tuck-end carton around them with only the clearance the insert needs.

A smaller box also fits more units per pallet and per truck. It's the least glamorous sustainability step we offer, and usually the one with the biggest measurable effect on material use.

You can start with 500 eco boxes. The minimum is the same whether you choose high-PCR corrugated, recycled paperboard or recycled kraft, so the greener board doesn't push the entry quantity up.

Single orders run to 100,000 pieces. Many brands begin with one SKU at the minimum, check the claim wording and the unlaminated finish on real stock, then roll the spec across the range.

Expect 7 to 10 business days in production from proof sign-off. When the date is fixed, rush production cuts that to 5 to 7 business days.
