Medal Presentation Boxes
Housing an award that will be shown to people for decades, and specified accordingly.
A fitted recess holds the medal face-up and centred, with the ribbon presented to that award's own convention. The value is symbolic, so the box is protecting meaning rather than a commodity.

Every detail. Intentional.
Ribbon to convention
Folds are award-specific and noticed by recipients.
Sulphur-free materials
Metals tarnish against the wrong lining or adhesive.
Adhesives checked too
The glue is as likely a source as the fabric.
Citation space
The document usually accompanies the award.
Hinge for decades
This box is opened for years, not once.
Recess to the medal
Fitted precisely, so nothing shifts or rattles.

Built like architecture.
Every order of Medal Presentation Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.
✦ Need a custom spec? Talk to our atelier. Every detail is negotiable.
Every surface, hand-selected.
What this product is built from, and the surfaces it takes. Below the build sheet sits the full swatch library. Every option applies across our range, and a physical swatch set is available on request.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Medal Presentation Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Medal Presentation Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Medal Presentation Boxes.
We cut or mould the cavity to your medal's actual dimensions, so it sits face-up and centred with nothing shifting. Flock or velvet over a fitted insert is the usual seat, and moulded foam suits heavier or irregular pieces.
Send us a physical medal or an accurate drawing with the thickness at the rim and the suspension. A cavity cut from an estimate lets the medal rattle, and recipients notice that the first time they lift the lid.
Yes, and we confirm the fold with you before anything is cut. Ribbon conventions differ from one award to the next, and military folds in particular are noticed by exactly the people receiving them.
Tell us the award and send a reference photo of how the ribbon should present. We shape the recess and any ribbon channel around that, so the drape looks right every time the box is opened.
They do, since an adhesive can give off sulphur compounds just as a fabric can. Silver and bronze tarnish against the wrong materials, and the damage shows years later as a discoloured patch where the medal sat.
We specify sulphur-free, acid-free linings, check the adhesives used to lay them, and document the materials so you have a record. That paperwork matters most for civic and military awards meant to be kept for generations.
There can be, and most award boxes need it, because the document usually travels with the medal. We add a lid pocket or a separate tray sized to the folded or flat citation.
For sets, the 8 × 6 × 1.5 in format gives enough floor for the award and a card side by side. Tell us the document size early, since it drives the box footprint more than the medal itself does.
Dark wrapped finishes with a debossed or foil-stamped crest suit the military and civic tier. Leatherette wrap and specialty papers over 2mm rigid board give the shell its weight and a surface that wears well over years of handling.
Inside, velvet flock or satin lines the recess. Gold or silver foil on the lid is the classic choice, and inside print can carry the awarding body's name under the lid.
A single medal usually fits a 4 × 4 × 1 in box, and a set typically goes to 8 × 6 × 1.5 in. Those are starting points. The real size comes from the medal diameter, its thickness with the suspension, and how much ribbon you want shown.
We work out the interior first and let the outside follow, adding wall and wrap thickness. Oversized medals, miniatures and multi-piece sets each get their own cavity drawing.
We make medal boxes from 500 pieces. The fitted cavity is drawn to one medal, so if you present several different designs, tell us at quote stage and we'll plan the inserts around them.
The upper end is 100,000 boxes, which covers national award programs and large sporting events that hand every finisher a medal.
Standard production is 7 to 10 business days from approved proof, with rush at 5 to 7 business days for a ceremony that can't move. Work back from the event date and leave time for delivery.
We'd strongly suggest a sample, which takes 5 to 7 business days. Seat the actual medal in it and check the ribbon fold before the run goes ahead. The sample charge comes off your production order.
