Tissue is thin enough that ink shows faintly through to the reverse, and every printed sheet does it. It comes with a 17gsm sheet, so we treat it as part of the design brief instead of a fault to fix.

Artwork that repeats edge to edge hides it well, because the ghost image lines up with the pattern beside it. A single large logo in the middle shows through the most, and it reads backwards wherever the wrap is folded over.

The heavier grades have more body in the hand and are less likely to tear when the wrap is pulled open. Standard 17gsm is what most retail and e-commerce packs are wrapped with, and it does the job well.

We'd move up to 22 to 28gsm when the tissue is a big part of what the customer sees, for example a garment box where the wrap fills the whole opening. Show-through is lighter on the thicker sheet too.

Yes, it works as an interleave, a light cushion and void fill inside the box. Laid into the folds of a folded garment, it stops a hard crease setting in while the box sits in storage and transit.

Between printed or embellished surfaces it keeps ink and decoration from transferring from one face to another while the box is closed. A few loosely crumpled sheets also take up the gap around a smaller item so it doesn't slide against the walls.

Repeating patterns, small logo repeats and simple line motifs print best. Tissue gets crumpled and folded, so the customer only ever sees part of the sheet, and intricate artwork gets lost in the creases.

The standard method is one or two colour flexo, printed with soy or water-based inks. We can also dye the sheet to a brand colour matched to the box, and a printed seal sticker closes the wrap.

The common flat sizes are 15 by 20 inches and 20 by 30 inches, and we cut custom sizes as well. Tissue is measured as a flat sheet, width by length, before any folding.

To choose, wrap the product in a plain sheet and check there's enough overlap to fold both edges across the top and still take a seal sticker. The smaller sheet usually suits accessories and folded tees, and the larger one covers bigger apparel and gift boxes.

Printed tissue starts at 500 sheets. Orders go up to 100,000 sheets, and the cost per sheet falls as the run gets longer because the flexo plates are a one-time setup.

A simple way to size the order is to count how many sheets go into each box and multiply by the number of boxes you expect to ship in a season.

Production takes 7 to 10 business days once the proof is signed off. If a launch date is close, the rush option brings it to 5 to 7 business days.

Allow 5 to 7 business days for a printed sample, which is the best way to judge show-through and the sheet colour inside your own box. If you go ahead with the tissue run, the sample fee is deducted from that invoice. Shipping covers the whole USA.

We offer recycled tissue with post-consumer content, and acid-free grades for archival use. Acid-free sheets are the right call for textiles and paper goods that will stay in their box for a long time.

Soy and water-based inks keep the printing in line with a recycled stock. Ask for recycled when you request a quote and we'll confirm the post-consumer percentage on that particular grade.
