Gable Boxes With Window
An aperture in a box that already has one, so placement matters more than usual.
Gable boxes carry things worth seeing, and a window turns a carry box into a display with a handle. But the handle is already a large cut, so the window has to stay clear of its load path.

Every detail. Intentional.
There is already an aperture
The handle itself removes board.
Keep windows low
Well clear of the handle's load path.
Generous frame retained
Structure before aperture size.
Warm contents fog film
Vent it, or leave the window open.
Bakery often prefers open
Airflow beats a sealed view.
Test with the window cut
The structural question needs the real blank.

Built like architecture.
Every order of Gable Boxes With Window is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Gable Boxes With Window to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Gable Boxes With Window per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Everything you need to know about Gable Boxes With Window.
Low on the front face, with a wide border of board left around it. The weight of the contents travels up the side panels to the handle, so a window cut high or close to the edges sits right in that load path.
The handle is already a large hole in the board. Adding a second opening means placement comes before window size, and we'd rather shrink the window than thin the frame.
The film fogs over and can drip condensation onto the contents. A sealed window over warm bakes or hot food mostly shows steam.
For warm products we would leave the window as an open aperture with no film at all. Bakeries often prefer that anyway, since air can move through the opening and the goods stay in view. A filmed window suits items that go in cool.
Clear PET film in a food-approved grade is our standard choice. It stays clear, glues down cleanly and holds flat across the aperture.
If the box is going compostable, we can patch the window with cellulose film instead, so the film does not need separating before disposal. Tell us which way you want to go when you request the quote and we'll sample the right film.
Yes, we cut shaped windows from custom dies, including outlines taken from a logo. The artwork is then built around the opening, so the printed frame points the eye toward the product instead of competing with it.
Print runs in CMYK on kraft or white coated board. For food service we add a grease-resistant coating to the board, keeping the printed frame clean where the contents touch the inside.
We size the box first, then fit the window inside a frame that leaves the load path intact. Common sizes for windowed faces are 6 x 3.5 x 7 inches and 8 x 4 x 8 inches, and custom sizes are cut to order.
Send the body's length, width and height along with what you want visible through the window. A wider front face gives more room for a generous opening without cutting into the side panels.
One order starts at 500 windowed boxes. Adding a film window does not change that number, and orders on this style can scale as far as 100,000.
We help set up the dieline and the window position free of charge before anything is cut, and the boxes ship anywhere in the USA.
Yes, and we'd insist on it for this style. A sample with the real window cut takes 5 to 7 business days, and its cost is credited to your production order.
Fill it and carry it by the handle, since the window's effect on strength only shows on the actual blank. Once approved, production takes 7 to 10 business days, or 5 to 7 on rush.
The board is recyclable, and the window film is the part to plan around. A PET patch is small, but some local programmes ask for it to be removed before the box goes in the bin.
For a fully compostable box, pair cellulose window film with compostable board. An open aperture with no film at all keeps the whole box as a single paper material, which is the simplest option for disposal.
