The moment that matters

The box is the building.
Inserts are everything else.

Furniture. Bodyguards. Stage crew. The unseen architecture that makes your product feel like it lives somewhere — not like it was just dropped in a box.

The box that carries itself.

Custom gable boxes — the handle-top format that's built for bakeries, food service, and retail gifting.

Why gable boxes are the retail carry standard.

The built-in handle turns every purchase into a branded carry.

§1

No bag required

A gable box is self-contained — the handle is integral to the box structure, not an add-on. The customer leaves with a branded package in hand, no plastic bag, no paper carrier. For food service and gifting, this functional simplicity is the entire value proposition.

§2

The bakery and food service default

Walk into any US artisan bakery, cupcake shop, or catering operation and gable boxes are the standard. The flat-pack format stores efficiently in a kitchen, erects in seconds, and the auto-bottom locks secure. It's a format optimised for high-volume, high-tempo food service environments.

§3

Retail gifting applications

Beyond food, gable boxes have become a gifting standard — seasonal retail, bath and body, toy packaging, and event favours. The silhouette is recognisably festive, and the print area on the two main panels and gable top is generous for brand storytelling.

The packaging blew our customers away. Unboxing videos went viral overnight. PackTist nailed every single detail.

Questions, answered.

A carton whose peaked top folds into an integral handle, cut from the box's own blank with no separate hardware.

It is the format of takeout meals, party favours and gift bundles — anywhere something needs carrying away by hand without a bag. The peaked roof shape gives it the name, and the handle aperture is die-cut through the folded peak.

18pt board handles light contents; anything approaching two pounds needs 24pt and a reinforced handle.

The failure mode is handle tear-out, and it is always discovered when the box is full. A wider handle aperture spreads load better than a narrow one, and the fold forming the peak should double the material at the handle's root. The only meaningful test is lifting a filled box by its handle and walking with it.

Because the base fails at least as often as the handle, and a tucked bottom under load releases at the worst moment.

An auto-lock bottom has pre-glued flaps that fold and lock as the box is erected, spreading weight across the whole base panel. Specifying a strong handle over a weak base simply relocates the failure — for anything with real contents, both are needed together.
