Small Chocolate Boxes
Two to four pieces, the impulse and favour format that sells at counter prices.
Small counts change the economics entirely. No moulded tray, minimal insert, and the whole box has to justify itself at an impulse price point.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Small Chocolate Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Small Chocolate Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Small Chocolate Boxes.
We use glassine cups or a simple folded board cavity instead of a moulded tray. At two or four pieces a thermoformed tray can cost more than it's worth, and a cup separates each piece just as well.
The glassine also keeps cocoa butter off the board. For a four-piece box we can fold a small board divider to stop the cups sliding.
A tuck-end closure is standard, and we can die-cut a ribbon slot into the lid. A ribbon threaded through a slot costs less to assemble than a tied bow and holds just as well in a favour bag.
For events, a ribbon and sticker close gives a finished look at low cost. The sticker can carry the couple's names or a date if you'd like one per table.
One colour printed well on good stock usually beats four colours printed on cheap board. Kraft or a coloured stock does a lot of the work, and a single foil hit on the logo lifts it without adding much.
For a counter box, a window patch shows the chocolate inside. Coloured stocks can also be matched to a wedding or event palette.
It should carry your name, where people can buy more and what the piece was. A sample box works as a marketing piece, and a beautiful box with no brand details wastes the introduction.
We print that information on the lid or base without crowding the design. A short line naming the flavour gives the taster something to ask for next time.
A 2-piece box is commonly about 2.5 × 2.5 × 1 in, and a 4-piece about 4 × 4 × 1 in. Those sizes seat standard bonbons in glassine cups with a little clearance.
If your pieces are larger or shaped, send the dimensions and we'll size the box to them. Dieline help is free, so a custom size doesn't add design cost.
Yes, the minimum is 500 boxes, which covers most wedding and event favour orders. Favour runs are where small boxes get ordered in the largest numbers, and 500 suits a large wedding with some spares.
Chocolatiers selling at the counter often use the same 500 as an entry run. Repeat orders of the favour box scale up to 100,000.
Production takes 7 to 10 business days after the proof is signed off, with rush runs available in 5 to 7. Add another 5 to 7 business days if you want a sample first, so you can check the ribbon slot and the fit of the cups.
Build in a margin before the event date for delivery. The sample fee is credited against the favour order when you proceed.
White SBS gives the brightest print and suits colour-matched event palettes, while kraft gives an artisan look with no extra printing. Both fold cleanly into a tuck-end box at this size.
We offer recyclable board in either. Art paper and specialty stocks are also available when a favour needs a textured or coloured surface.
