Collapsible Rigid Boxes
Rigid presentation at folding-carton freight rates, which is the change that made rigid boxes viable online.
Creased greyboard panels held square by magnets rather than glue. The box ships flat, squares up in one motion at the bench, and delivers rigid weight on the doorstep.

Every detail. Intentional.
Rigid used to ship as air
A fixed box occupies full volume from the factory on.
Magnets do two jobs
They close the lid and lock the walls upright.
Warehousing drops sharply
Deeper inventory in the same rented space.
The honest trade-off
Visible corner creases where fixed rigid has mitres.
Compare landed, not unit
The freight saving is where the maths actually lands.
Crease sharpness tells
It is where cheap collapsibles give themselves away.

Built like architecture.
Every order of Collapsible Rigid Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Collapsible Rigid Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Collapsible Rigid Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Collapsible Rigid Boxes.
The panels are creased greyboard that fold up into walls, and small magnets set under the wrap hold them square once the box is erected. There is no glue at the corners, so the box arrives flat and is set up in one motion at the packing bench.
Weak magnets let a wall lean out under a heavy product, so we specify them for the load inside as well as for the lid.
Mostly freight and storage, because the box travels and sits in the warehouse flat instead of at full volume. A fixed rigid box is mostly air from the moment it leaves the factory, so a pallet holds a fraction of the units. Flat blanks stack deep, which means more inventory in the same rented space.
Compare the two on landed cost per box, including freight and storage, since the unit price alone hides where the saving lands.
Up close, yes, because the corners show a crease line where a fixed rigid box has a mitred joint. Most customers won't notice, and the weight, wrap and finish are the same. The crease is where quality differences between suppliers show, since a blunt crease leaves a rounded, puffy corner.
We cut the crease lines with sharp tooling and reinforce them on builds that will be set up more than once.
No, the wrap is printed, laminated and foiled while the blank is still flat, so every standard rigid finish is available. Soft-touch lamination is the most popular surface. A hot foil lid mark goes on before assembly, and embossing or spot UV are added at the same stage.
A flood colour printed on the inside is a good use of the format, since the interior shows as soon as the lid lifts. A ribbon pull helps on a tight lid.
We commonly build them at 8 × 6 × 3 in and 12 × 9 × 4 in, and custom sizes are drawn to order. Dimensions are taken inside the assembled box. Tall walls on a flat-folding box need stronger wall locks, so a deep build is worth sampling before a bulk run.
A fitted insert goes in at the bench after the box is squared, so it is sized to the erected interior rather than the flat blank.
For parcel carriers we'd put it inside a corrugated mailer or shipper. The wrap scuffs on sorting belts, and a heavy knock can push a wall out of line. Inside a shipper, the box arrives looking the way it left the bench.
For subscription programmes, the flat-pack format keeps plenty of presentation boxes in stock without taking over the warehouse, while the plain shipper does the carrier work.
The minimum is 30 boxes, with room to scale up to 100,000. A short run lets you test the format with your packing team before committing warehouse space. The storage saving grows with volume, so the format pays off most for brands shipping steadily each month.
Thirty units still come with the full range of wrap, foil and insert options, so the trial looks like the real thing.
Plan on 7 to 10 business days for the run itself, or 5 to 7 if it goes on rush. A sample takes 5 to 7 business days and lets your team try the fold-up at the bench before you commit, and its fee is credited to the bulk order.
The boxes leave us flat, which also keeps the delivery compact. We ship to every part of the USA.
