White Rigid Boxes.

Bright white is optically brightened and reads cool and technical, while natural off-white is unbrightened and reads warmer and more crafted. The two look close on a screen and very different side by side on a shelf, so pick the one that sits with the rest of your range.

Whichever you choose, we match it across production runs. A batch-to-batch mismatch shows more on white than on any colour, and reorders have to line up with stock already out there.

An unlaminated white wrap picks up marks before it ever reaches the customer. Fingerprints on the fill line, rub from neighbouring boxes in the carton and courier scuffs all show on white in a way they don't on dark stock. A matte laminate with an anti-scuff additive is our default for that reason.

Soft-touch white is available and has the nicest hand of the lot, but it marks more easily, so plan for careful handling.

Gloves on the fill line make the biggest difference, and it's the step most often skipped. We handle white boxes with gloves through wrapping and packing on our side, and we'd recommend the same when you fill them. Outer cartons should hold the boxes snugly so they can't rub against each other.

Skipping this tends to show up later at the returns desk, as complaints about boxes that arrived looking dirty.

Foil and blind deboss both do very well on a white ground. Metallic foil against white reads almost like jewellery, and a blind deboss, with no ink or foil, leaves a mark made only of shadow. A single PMS spot colour is the other restrained route that minimal brands tend to take.

Full CMYK print works too, and white shows colour accurately, but most customers ordering white want the surface kept mostly clear.

Line it in the same white as the outside so opening the box doesn't reveal a different shade. An off-white interior inside a bright white shell looks like a mistake. We also use white-lined board where edges are exposed, so a cut edge shows white and never grey.

Inserts can be white board, white EVA foam or a wrapped platform in the matching paper.

Common sizes are 8 × 6 × 3 in and 10 × 8 × 4 in, in either bright or off-white, but the dimensions are yours to set. Give us the inside length, width and depth the contents need, including any insert, and we add the board and wrap to reach the outer size.

On white, a snug fit matters more than usual. A product sliding around inside leaves rub marks on the interior lining.

The minimum here is 30 boxes. Short runs are handy for white in particular, because you can live with the shade and the finish on real product before committing to a large quantity. We keep the colour spec on file, so the next run matches the first.
