Collector Coin Boxes
Conservation packaging before anything else, because the materials decide what the coin looks like in ten years.
Coins tone when sulphur and PVC plasticisers migrate out of the materials around them. For a category where condition is the entire market, material safety is the specification.

Every detail. Intentional.
Sulphur-free throughout
Including the adhesives, not just the visible flock.
No PVC anywhere
The green residue on old flips is plasticiser attack.
Acid-free where paper touches
Buffered stocks for anything in long contact.
Wells to diameter or slab
Graded coins set the cavity, not the coin.
Certificates housed
A coin sale is a document event as much as an object.
Humidity considered
A sealed box holding damp is its own slow problem.

Built like architecture.
Every order of Collector Coin Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Collector Coin Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Collector Coin Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Collector Coin Boxes.
Some packaging materials give off sulphur or PVC plasticiser, and both can tone or mark a coin that sits in the box for years. The green residue on old PVC flips is plasticiser that has migrated out of the plastic. We build coin boxes from sulphur-free, PVC-free and acid-free components throughout.
That covers the hidden parts too, including the adhesive behind the lining, which is the contamination route most often overlooked.
Each well is cut to the coin's diameter and thickness, or to the outside dimensions of the capsule or graded slab if the coin is housed. A loose fit lets the coin shift and rub, and a tight one makes it hard to lift out. Graded slabs are rectangular and much larger than the coin, so they set the insert layout on a set box.
Send a measured list of every piece and we'll lay out the wells on the dieline.
A single coin box is commonly around 3 × 3 × 1 in, and a set box around 8 × 6 × 1.5 in. Sizes are internal. For a set, the number of wells and their spacing decide the footprint, and slabs push the depth up.
Commemorative and numbered issues often need room for a certificate in the lid or under the tray, and we add that into the size from the start instead of squeezing it in later.
It sits in a sleeve inside the lid or a pocket under the insert, so the paperwork stays with the coin. The certificate is part of what a collector is buying, and a loose card gets bent or lost. The sleeve paper is acid-free like everything else in the box.
Some issuers set the certificate so it faces the coin when the lid opens, which shows the provenance at a glance.
Most coin boxes carry a foil-stamped edition name or number on a leatherette or matte-laminated wrap. Embossing and debossing suit a mint mark or crest. Inside, velvet flock seating gives a presentation finish, provided the adhesive underneath has been checked for sulphur.
A display window lid is available for coins meant to be seen without opening the box, with the window material chosen from the same PVC-free set as the rest.
A fully sealed box isn't the answer, because once damp air gets in it stays trapped against the coin. A close-fitting lid on stable, acid-free materials is the usual approach. It keeps dust out and still lets the box settle to room conditions.
If your boxes ship to humid regions, a small desiccant sachet can sit in a pocket under the insert, and we can cut space for one.
Coin box orders start at 500 pieces. For a mint or dealer with several issues, each box size and design is its own run of 500, and runs go up to 100,000.
Tell us whether the boxes hold raw coins, capsules or slabs, since that changes the insert and sometimes the box size. It also decides whether one box can serve more than one issue.
After you approve the proof, coin boxes take 7 to 10 business days to make, and rush jobs finish in 5 to 7. Sampling comes first and needs 5 to 7 business days. We recommend it here so you can seat real coins and capsules in the wells before the bulk run, and the sample fee is credited against production.
Finished boxes ship to anywhere in the country.
