Confectionery Boxes
Sticky, oily and brittle pieces in one assortment, which is the reason compartments exist.
Toffees weld, fudge marks, brittle shatters. A paper cup per piece lets one box hold all three behaviours without them interfering with each other.

Every detail. Intentional.
A cup absorbs the behaviour
So the box does not have to.
Sticky welds to board
Glassine or waxed separation.
Moisture runs both ways
Brittles tack, fudges dry.
Dense for its size
Bases specified closer to pie boxes.
Sold by the quarter pound
Weights declared on pack.
Seaside heritage register
Stripes and toffee-tin typography.

Built like architecture.
Every order of Confectionery Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Confectionery Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Confectionery Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Confectionery Boxes.
A glassine cup gives every piece its own contact surface, so toffee cannot weld to the board and fudge cannot mark its neighbour. One assortment can hold sticky, oily and brittle pieces together without them interfering.
We seat the cups in a compartment tray cut to your piece sizes. The cups do the separating, and the tray stops the rows moving when the box is tipped.
Sugar is dense, so a small box of fudge or brittle weighs more than its size suggests. We specify the base closer to a pie box than a chocolate box, which stops it bowing when someone carries it by the edges.
A quarter-pound box can stay in 18pt coated board. Half-pound and larger assortments usually move up to 24pt or add a tray that stiffens the floor.
Add an inner film, a sealed band or an overwrap, because the board on its own is no moisture barrier. Moisture moves both ways in a mixed box: brittles pick it up and turn tacky, while fudge gives it up and dries.
For assortments sold quickly over the counter, greaseproof layers and a closed lid usually do the job. Stock that waits on a retail shelf is where we'd add the film.
Candy stripes and toffee-tin typography are the heritage look, and hot foil on the lid gives it a gift finish. We print CMYK plus Pantone matches, so a house colour stays consistent from one run to the next.
A modern range might go matte soft-touch with spot UV on the logo. A farm-stand kraft look suits fudge sold at markets, and a window patch in the lid lets the assortment do the selling at the counter.
Most of our confectionery boxes fall between 5 × 5 × 1.5 in and 10 × 7 × 2 in, shallow enough to hold a single layer of cups. Sweets are often sold by the quarter pound or half pound, so we size around those weights.
Tell us the piece dimensions and the count or weight you sell, and we'll lay out the tray and quote a box to fit it. The side panel has room for the declared net weight.
Our minimum is 500 boxes per design. A shop selling quarter-pound and half-pound assortments would normally order each size as its own line of 500 or more.
The glassine cups and compartment trays are quoted per box on the same order, so they arrive matched to the carton and ready to pack.
Production takes 7 to 10 business days from proof sign-off, and a rush run finishes in 5 to 7 business days. Samples come first if you want them, taking 5 to 7 business days, and the sample fee is deducted from the production order.
For foil or soft-touch work a physical sample is the safest check, since those finishes look different in the hand than on a screen.
The outer box is made from recyclable board, and a plain printed carton goes in with paper recycling. Glassine cups are paper as well. Lamination, window film and inner overwrap are the parts that complicate it.
If recyclability matters most, we'd drop the soft-touch lamination for an unlaminated finish and keep any window small enough to pull out.
