Cupcake Boxes
The insert is the product here, because without it a box of cupcakes arrives as a collision.
A die-cut platform suspends each cupcake by its case so nothing rotates or leans. Fit is precise: loose and they tilt, tight and extraction tears the case.

Every detail. Intentional.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Cupcake Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Cupcake Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Cupcake Boxes.
Closely enough to grip the paper case without squeezing it, which is a tolerance of about a millimetre. A loose hole lets the cupcake tilt into the lid, and a tight one tears the case when the customer lifts it out.
We cut the insert holes for mini, standard or jumbo cases, so send us the case you actually bake in rather than a nominal size.
Plan on 3.5 to 4 inches of internal height for modern high swirls. The insert holds the cupcake by its case, so the frosting sits free and only needs clearance above it.
Measure your tallest decorated cupcake from the bottom of the case to the top of the piping, then add a little room so the lid film never touches.
Lock-corner boxes erect in a few seconds without tape, which matters when staff are packing orders during a rush. The corners also square up the walls so the insert sits level.
Each count, from singles to the dozen, has its own insert. We keep the lock-corner base consistent across counts where the footprint allows, so your team learns one fold.
A full-window lid comes first, since frosting is what sells a cupcake, and the print frames that window. Pastel branding is the inherited palette for the category, and kraft with one colour gives a farmers-market look.
We can colour-match the insert to your brand so the platform looks finished through the window. A ribbon or printed sticker closes gift orders.
The 4-count is 6.5 × 6.5 × 3.5 in, the 6-count is 9.5 × 6.5 × 3.5 in and the 12-count is 12.5 × 9.5 × 3.5 in. Singles and 2-count boxes are available for gifts and small orders.
Those sizes assume standard cases. Jumbo cupcakes need wider hole spacing and often a taller box, so we'd size those from your own measurements.
500 boxes is the starting quantity for a custom cupcake box. Most bakeries begin with the 4-count and 6-count, since those move the most volume, and add singles later if gifting picks up.
Inserts are ordered to match each box count. We quote them together so the platform and carton arrive in the same shipment.
Expect 7 to 10 business days for a normal run and 5 to 7 when it's rushed. Samples take 5 to 7 business days, and we credit what you paid for the sample against the production order.
A sample is the only reliable test of insert fit, so we'd make one for any new case size before you approve the bulk run. We ship across the USA.
It will if the insert fits and the box rides flat, because the insert stops the cupcakes rotating or leaning into each other. Generic trays with oversized holes are where most of the tilting starts.
A greaseproof base layer keeps buttery cases from marking the board on a longer trip. For large catering orders, the 12-count boxes stack in a vehicle as long as the lids stay level.
