Cookie Boxes
The gourmet wave changed the format, because a thick cookie needs its own cavity rather than a flat tray.
Heavyweight cookies fuse if they touch while warm and slide if they do not. Individual cups or a cavity grid keep them separated and presentable.

Every detail. Intentional.

Cavities keep them apart.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Cookie Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Cookie Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Cookie Boxes.
A cavity insert grid, or individual cups, holds each cookie apart so warm ones cannot fuse and cooled ones cannot slide. Gourmet cookies are thick and heavy, which rules out stacking them flat on a tray.
We cut the grid to your cookie diameter and the count you sell, typically 4, 6 or 12. The grid also keeps the layout neat for the photo customers take when they open it.
The gift box goes inside an E-flute corrugated shipper with a fitted insert grid, and each cookie usually gets its own barrier bag. Board keeps cookies fresh for days, so on longer routes the film bags do the preserving.
The outer shipper can carry bold print for the doorstep moment. Inside, a printed gift box keeps the unboxing intact even if the shipper arrives scuffed.
A retail carton is a quick-erect box, often windowed, sold off the counter, and a gift assortment is a lidded box with an insert and a flavour card. The gourmet cookie boom pushed more brands toward the gift version.
Both need a coated or greaseproof interior at butter-rich levels. The gift box adds interior print on the lid and a flavour map naming each cookie.
Bold pattern print on the outside and a printed message under the lid work best, since the box gets photographed on a doorstep and again when it's opened. We print CMYK on coated board or a one-colour mark on kraft for a plainer bakery look.
A window lid suits counter sales. A flavour map card is worth adding to assortments so the buyer knows which cookie is which.
Our gift dozen box is 6 × 6 × 2 in, and the assortment format is 8 × 5 × 2.5 in. Treat both as starting points, because thick gourmet cookies usually need extra depth and larger cavities.
Measure the widest cookie and the thickest one, tell us the count per box, and we'll set the insert grid first and size the box around it.
There is, and it's 500 boxes for a custom print run. For most artisan brands that makes a sensible first order in one size.
Seasonal programmes often keep one box structure all year and change only the lid artwork for each holiday, so the insert grid and dieline carry over from order to order.
Production itself takes 7 to 10 business days, with rush slots at 5 to 7, but holiday orders should start earlier to leave time for artwork and a sample. Samples take 5 to 7 business days, and the fee is credited back against the full order.
We'd suggest approving holiday artwork by early autumn. The sample is also where you check insert fit with a real cookie before the bulk run.
Yes, we build cookie boxes in a compostable option or in natural kraft, with a greaseproof layer where butter would otherwise mark the board. Food-safe PE coating resists grease well but makes the board harder to recycle.
For a brand making sustainability claims on pack, we'd pair a kraft box with compostable pulp or paper inserts and keep film to the individual cookie bags.
