Cream Boxes
Double-wall jars run visibly larger than the volume they hold, so measure the outer wall.
The inner vessel holds the product and the outer exists to look substantial. A carton sized from the fill volume will not close, and it is the most common reprint in premium skincare.

Every detail. Intentional.
Measure the outer jar
Not the millilitres printed on it.
Weight sits low and wide
A 50ml glass jar outweighs a 100ml bottle.
20pt for the base
Jars concentrate load differently to bottles.
Near-cubic prints well
Four square faces, all usable.
Collar or pulp for glass
Broken cream is unsalvageable, not just damaged.
Deboss reads as restraint
Which is the prevailing language in moisturisers.

Built like architecture.
Every order of Cream Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Cream Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Cream Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Cream Boxes.
Because the carton was sized from the fill volume instead of the outer jar. A double-wall jar has an inner vessel holding the product and an outer shell that exists to look substantial, and the outer can be far larger than 50ml suggests.
A carton sized to the millilitres will not close. Measure the outer jar, cap on, and send those figures rather than the volume on the label.
20pt SBS as standard, because a jar concentrates its weight low and wide on the base panel in a way a bottle doesn't. A 50ml glass jar outweighs a 100ml plastic bottle, and the base has to carry it.
24pt SBS is the step up for prestige creams, reaching close to a rigid feel at folding-carton cost. For luxury jars where the box is part of the gift, 2mm greyboard rigid construction is the answer.
A folded paperboard collar or a moulded pulp cavity holds the jar off the carton walls. Broken cream is unsalvageable rather than merely damaged, so the insert is not optional on glass.
The collar keeps the pack recyclable as one material. Pulp cushions better and still recycles in the same stream, so it's the choice for heavier jars or longer transit.
Soft-touch matte with a hot foil mark is the prestige cream standard, and the square panels are the easiest geometry in skincare to foil well. Every face is large enough to feel, which is why a velvet finish works so well on this format.
Deboss reads as restraint, which is the prevailing language in moisturisers. Spot UV over matte suits a botanical or texture graphic across a full face, and aqueous coating replaces laminate where the range excludes plastic.
Roughly 2.6 x 2.6 x 2.4 inches inside for a standard 50ml glass jar, and about 3.0 x 3.0 x 2.8 inches for a double-wall jar of the same fill. The near-cubic shape gives four square faces, all usable for print.
Panel area comes out around 40 square inches, which gives comfortable type sizing for the required marks. We size from your jar's outer dimensions, never from the volume.
500 cartons. A small near-cubic carton nests efficiently on the sheet, so 500 is a workable run even for one SKU, and the price tiers down above 1,000.
If the range has several jar sizes, each needs its own dieline, so we quote per size and share the print setup where the artwork is common.
Standard production is 7 to 10 business days after proof sign-off, and rush brings that down to 5 to 7 business days. A physical sample takes 5 to 7 business days and is the fastest way to confirm a double-wall jar actually closes inside the carton.
The sample fee is credited against the bulk order. Inserts add no time once the jar dimensions are confirmed.
Yes, if the insert is a paperboard collar or moulded pulp, both of which recycle with the carton. An aqueous coating instead of a plastic laminate keeps the whole pack in the paper stream.
Soft-touch and other film laminates are still recyclable in many streams but can be rejected in some. Where a range makes a plastic-free claim, we build the carton with a water-based coat and a fibre insert.
