Cube Boxes
Equal on every axis, the shape that photographs well and stacks without a gap.
A true cube has no front, which makes print planning different: every face has to work. Structurally it is the most efficient shape for compression.

Every detail. Intentional.
There is no front face
Every panel must work.
Strongest under compression
Equal spans in all directions.
Stacks without wasted space
Perfect pallet geometry.
Tuck-end or two-piece
Cost against presentation.
Photographs from any angle
Which retail merchandising likes.
Windows on multiple faces
Visibility without a front.

Built like architecture.
Every order of Cube Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Cube Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Cube Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Cube Boxes.
Treat the four walls and the lid as one continuous canvas instead of six separate panels. A cube gets picked up and set down at any angle, so a design that only works from one side looks wrong half the time on a shelf. Wrap-around patterns and a logo repeated on two faces are the usual answers.
We supply the dieline with the panel order marked, so you can see how the artwork flows across each fold.
All the spans are equal, so no single wall is long enough to buckle before the others. A long rectangular box has a weak panel in the middle of its longest side, and a cube simply doesn't have one. On a pallet, cubes also stack with no wasted space.
The strength still depends on size and board. A 6-inch cube in light board will crush under enough weight, so heavier contents go into a thicker caliper or E-flute.
It comes down to cost against presentation. An 18 to 24pt folding cube with a tuck or auto-lock base ships flat and suits volume retail. A rigid cube with a lift-off lid, often half-height, is the chunky gift build and costs more to make and to ship.
For e-commerce, an E-flute shipper cube carries print and survives the parcel network without a second box around it.
A paperboard collar is the most-ordered option, because it grips round contents inside a square cavity. Without one, a jar rolls into a corner and knocks the walls every time the box is moved. The collar also centres the item so the lid sits flat.
Mugs usually need a collar plus a base pad, as the handle throws the fit off to one side.
Soft-touch lamination, hot foil, embossing and spot UV all run on cubes, with CMYK and PMS colour underneath. Foil tends to go on the rigid gift builds, where the wrapped paper takes it cleanly. Kraft and coloured stocks suit a quieter, natural look.
A ribbon or bow is available for gift sets. We don't offer holographic film or window patching on this style.
The common sizes are 3 × 3 × 3 in, 4 × 4 × 4 in and 6 × 6 × 6 in, measured inside. Measure the largest dimension of the product, including any collar or insert, and size the cube to that. With the same figure in every direction, a tall item leaves a lot of empty space around it.
Nested sets of two or three sizes work well as stacking gift towers.
Cube boxes start at a 500-unit minimum per size and design, with orders going up to 100,000. For a stacking tower set, each size in the set counts as its own run.
Folding cubes are the cheaper place to start at low quantities, since rigid builds involve more hand work per box and that labour doesn't shrink much with volume.
Our standard run is 7 to 10 business days from proof approval, and a rush can bring that down to 5 to 7. A sample takes 5 to 7 business days, which gives you time to check how the wrap-around artwork lines up at the corners. Free design help covers the dieline setup.
Pay for the sample now and the same amount is deducted when you place the full order.
