Folding Boxes
Ships flat and erects in seconds, the format that made retail packaging affordable.
Folding cartons cut freight and storage to a fraction of rigid alternatives. Everything about the format is a trade between cost, speed and structure.

Every detail. Intentional.
Flat freight is the saving
A fraction of rigid volume.
Erects by hand or machine
Line speed sets the style.
Score lines do the work
Crease quality is everything.
Auto-bottom for weight
Tuck bottoms for light goods.
More print faces than expected
More than the shape suggests.
Lowest cost per unit
Which is why it dominates.

Built like architecture.
Every order of Custom Folding Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Custom Folding Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Custom Folding Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Custom Folding Boxes.
They're printed and glued as flat blanks and only become a box at your packing bench, so a pallet holds many times more units than the same boxes erected. That saving on freight and warehouse space is the reason the format took over retail packaging. A rigid box ships at full volume every time.
Collapsible rigid builds bring some of that flat logistics to the luxury end of the range.
The carton erects out of square, leaning into a rhomboid instead of standing with straight corners. Score lines do most of the work in a folding box, and a shallow or misplaced crease lets the board fold wherever it wants. On a shelf that shows as a row of boxes leaning the same way.
We match the crease tooling to the board caliper and check squareness on the first sheets off the press.
Choose a tuck bottom for light products and an auto-bottom once the weight would push a tuck open. A tuck bottom is cheaper and folds by hand. An auto-bottom is pre-glued, so it snaps into a locked floor in one squeeze and carries far more weight.
On a busy packing line the auto-bottom also saves seconds on every box, which adds up faster than the small difference in unit cost.
Every panel can be printed, including the flaps, the tucks and the inside, because the blank goes through the press flat. Buyers are often surprised by how many printable faces a simple carton has. Litho gives the sharpest carton print, with foil, embossing, spot UV and soft-touch lamination available on top.
Inside print needs a second pass, so we'd put it where the customer actually looks, such as the underside of the lid.
Keep them flat and dry, with nothing heavy stacked on top of the cases. Blanks often sit in a warehouse for months, and crushed or damp stock won't erect square later. A pallet left in a humid corner can pick up enough moisture to curl.
Leave the cartons in the shipping cases they arrived in until you need them, since those cases are the crush protection.
Give us the inside length, width and depth in that order, with length and width describing the opening. That's the standard carton convention, and it tells us which panels carry the tuck flaps. We add allowance for the board thickness when drawing the dieline.
Folding boxes are fully custom, so there's no stock size to squeeze into. We size to the product and any insert that goes with it.
We quote folding cartons from 500 units up, and a single order can go to 100,000. Litho carton print is efficient in volume, so the unit cost drops noticeably as quantity rises. Flat blanks also mean a large order doesn't need a large storeroom.
If you have several products in similar sizes, one shared structure with different print can bring the cost down further.
Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 business days after you sign off the proof, and a rush slot runs 5 to 7. Samples come back in 5 to 7 business days, which is the time to check squareness and the base with the product loaded. Free dieline help is included.
Your sample fee is credited back once the carton run is confirmed.
