Sizing & dieline.
We cut Dental Kit Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Dental Kit Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Dental Kit Boxes.
We cut a fitted tray with a separate cavity for each item, so tubes, brushes and instruments can't shift against each other. The tray is paperboard or E-flute, depending on the weight it has to carry. Anything that goes in the mouth stays in its own sealed wrap, and the kit box sits outside that as secondary packaging.
Yes, a professional kit is arranged in the order the items are used chairside, while a patient kit puts the aftercare instructions on top. Both can share one outer size and differ only in the tray layout and print. That keeps you on a single die for clinic and retail versions.
Coated SBS or E-flute with a moisture-resistant coating or lamination handles the humidity in both places. Uncoated board softens and warps after a few weeks beside a sink. Gloss or matte lamination also lets staff wipe the box down, and aqueous coating is the lighter option when the box sees less handling.
Yes, we build kit boxes with a tuck lid or a hinged lid that opens and shuts many times without the fold wearing through. Patients keep a take-home kit by the sink for weeks, so the closure has to last. A double-scored hinge on the lid resists hinge fatigue better than a single crease.
Print your practice name and colours on the lid, since a take-home kit stays in view in a patient's bathroom for weeks. CMYK print with spot UV or gloss lamination is the usual spec, and a rigid gift box is available for a premium welcome kit. The inside of the lid is a good place for the aftercare card.
A patient take-home kit is commonly 7 × 5 × 1.5 in, and a professional kit around 9 × 6 × 2 in. We size from the tray outward, so send us every item that goes in, including the longest brush or instrument. The outer dimensions follow once the cavities are laid out.
Kits start at 500 boxes, each with its fitted tray. Clinic and retail versions can share one tray die, which makes adding the second printed design simpler. We'd sample the tray first to confirm every item sits where it should before the full run.
Our standard lead time for dental kits is 7 to 10 business days, and rush brings it down to 5 to 7. Allow 5 to 7 business days for a sample kit with the fitted tray. Its cost is credited against the bulk order, and the dieline work is free.
