A straight tuck end carton on 18pt board is the standard build for a 10ml or 30ml oil bottle. It's the simplest style to glue and the cheapest to run, and at this size there's no weight to justify a locking base. Kraft board suits an apothecary range and bright SBS suits a clinical aromatherapy line.

Add a folded paperboard collar if the bottle is small and heavy for its carton. It stops the glass sliding around inside during transit.

Decide on the cap before the dieline is drawn, because a CR closure is taller and wider than a standard dropper cap. A carton cut for the plain cap will not close over a child-resistant one, and there is no cheap way to retrofit it later. Give us the assembled bottle with the closure you will actually ship.

Orifice reducers add height at the neck as well. We measure the bottle with the reducer and cap fitted, then add clearance.

Yes, provided the panel is reserved on the dieline before the artwork is designed. A 10ml carton has four narrow faces, and if pictograms and precautionary text are required for your oils they need a clean block on the back panel. Cartons drawn as pure branding and then patched with a sticker are the common mistake in this category.

Tell us at quote stage whether the panel is needed and we'll lay the dieline out with the space held.

Aqueous coating over a single-colour print on kraft is the honest route, and it keeps the carton repulpable. One ink on brown board reads as small-batch more convincingly than a full-colour job, and a deboss of the logo survives handling better than a printed mark. For a clinical range on SBS, matte lamination keeps the type legible.

A colour-coded band per oil is worth printing when the range runs past a dozen variants. Customers navigate thirty bottles by the band rather than the name.

The common 10ml carton runs about 1.2 by 1.2 by 3.0 inches inside, and a 30ml bottle moves up to roughly 1.5 by 1.5 by 3.5 inches. Those are internal figures and they assume a standard dropper cap. Bottle moulds vary, so we size each carton from your actual bottle rather than from a chart.

Send a filled sample with the cap and any orifice reducer fitted and we'll cut a blank sample to confirm the fit before the run.

The minimum run is 500 cartons per design. Below that the make-ready on the press and the die cost more than the boxes, so 500 is where the unit price starts to make sense. Orders scale up to 100,000 without a change in construction.

If your range has thirty oils, each printed variant counts as its own design. Most small ranges keep one printed carton and identify the oil with a label on the bottle.

Standard production takes 7 to 10 business days once the artwork is approved. A rush slot brings that down to 5 to 7 business days when the schedule allows. Pre-production samples take 5 to 7 business days and are worth ordering when a CR cap or a collar insert is involved.

With an aqueous coating, yes: the carton goes into ordinary paper recycling as a single-material pack. Aqueous is water-based and repulps with the fibre, unlike a film lamination, which has to be stripped. Kraft, SBS and PCW recycled board all recycle the same way once the finish is chosen with that in mind.

If you want a recycled-content claim on the pack, specify PCW recycled board at quote stage so the percentage can be stated.
