Most floor stands finish between 48 and 72 in tall, with the top shelf no higher than a shopper can comfortably reach. Height is usually capped by the retailer's planogram rather than by the board, and many chains keep free-standing units low enough to see over. The header can rise above the last shelf to add presence without adding a shelf nobody can reach.

We set the final height once we know your product's size and how many facings each shelf needs to show.

That depends on the shelf span, the flute and how the shelf is supported, so we size the structure to your filled product weight instead of quoting one figure. A shelf with a folded front lip and support from both side walls carries far more than a flat shelf resting on tabs. Longer spans sag first, which is why wide stands often get a centre divider under each shelf.

Double-wall BC flute is the usual choice for the body of a floor stand, with single-wall E or B flute for printed headers and shelf trims. The thicker board resists bowing in the side walls once the shelves are loaded, while the thinner flute takes litho-laminated print with sharper detail. Mixing the two keeps the stand rigid without making the graphic panels look coarse.

Very light products such as greeting cards or sachets can go single-wall throughout, which lowers the weight and the freight cost.

The stand ships flat in its own carton, and store staff build it by slotting the shelves into the side walls, with no tape or tools. Numbered steps printed inside the carton or on a base flap keep the build to a few minutes. Shelves that lock with tabs stay put when shoppers pull product forward.

If your stands will be packed with product at a fulfilment centre instead, we design them to travel assembled inside a shipper case.

Every outward face can carry full-colour print, including the header, side panels, shelf lips and the base kick plate. The kick plate at floor level is often left as a solid brand colour, because it takes scuffs from carts and mops and hides wear better than photography. Shelf lips are the right place for price strips or product names that read at hand height.

Inside surfaces print in CMYK too, which matters on open-backed stands where shoppers see the back wall behind the product.

Yes, shelves can be split with dividers or set at different heights so several SKUs share one stand. A range of flavours or sizes usually reads best with one product per shelf and a colour band on each lip, so shoppers find their variant at a glance. Packs of different heights just need the shelf spacing drawn around each one.

Floor stand orders start at a low minimum that varies with the build, and your packaging manager confirms it on the quote. A test run for a handful of stores is common before a wider rollout, and the same dieline and artwork carry straight into the larger order. Because the stands ship flat, keeping a few spares back for damaged units costs little storage space.

Production takes 7 to 10 business days after you approve the artwork, or 5 to 7 business days on rush. For a new structure we recommend a sample first, made in 5 to 7 business days, so you can load real product and check the shelf heights before the run. The sample fee is credited back when you place the bulk order.
