The insert should grip each brush at the ferrule, the metal collar, and leave the bristle head hanging in free air. Bristles that rest against a flat surface take a set within weeks, and the customer ends up blaming the brushes.

A slot the brush simply drops into is not enough. There needs to be clearance above the head as well as support under the collar.

We usually recommend a die-cut paperboard cradle for brush sets. It supports each ferrule, keeps the pack single-material and recyclable, and looks cleaner on camera than foam does.

EVA foam earns its place when the handles are irregular, since it forgives odd shapes better than folded board. Premium sets sometimes add a velvet flock lining to protect both the bristles and painted handles.

Single brush cartons need 20pt SBS as a minimum. At roughly 8.5 in tall on a 1.2 in square footprint, a lighter board bows along the long panels and the carton looks tired on the peg.

If you want shoppers to touch the bristles before buying, a printed sleeve with a hanger hole is the alternative to a closed carton.

Yes, a die-cut window over the brush heads lets shoppers judge shape and density before they buy. It works on the set box lid and on single cartons, as long as the aperture sits over the heads and clear of the fold lines.

A window does not change the insert rule. The heads still need clearance behind the opening so nothing presses on them.

Soft-touch lamination is the most popular choice, because its velvet feel matches the softness the brushes are sold on. Hot foil on the lid echoes the metal ferrules inside, and a wide flat lid is a good surface for embossing.

Professional artistry sets tend to go with plain matte lamination, which reads as a working kit for a makeup artist.

A set box with a cavity insert usually measures around 9 × 5 × 1.5 in, and a single brush carton around 1.2 × 1.2 × 8.5 in. Both change with brush count and handle length.

Measure the longest brush from the handle end to the tip of the bristles, then add the head clearance. We work out the insert from those numbers and send you the dieline to check.

Brush boxes start at 500 units per design. That applies to the magnetic set box and to single cartons, so a launch can include both without a large commitment on either.

Set boxes are built on 2mm greyboard with a magnetic closure, because customers keep them as vanity storage long after the brushes come out.

Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 business days, with a 5 to 7 day rush if your date is tight. Samples come back in 5 to 7 business days, and the fee is taken off the production order.

With brushes the sample earns its keep. It is the only way to confirm that every head clears the lid before the full run is built.
