Distortion usually comes from forming, where flat faces on the cavity act like lenses and any unevenness in the sheet shows up as a ripple. Webbing at deep corners and scratches picked up in transit also cloud the view. We polish the tooling to optical grade and keep large faces flat so the product reads cleanly through the plastic.

We apply a protective film to faces that scuff easily and can run an anti-static sheet that doesn't pull in dust. Scratches show far more on clear plastic than on a printed pack, so how the blisters are nested and cartoned for shipping matters as much as the sheet.

Anti-static grades also help on your packing line, where charged sheet attracts lint.

Yes, with an anti-fog grade of PET that stops condensation beading on the inside of the cavity. Standard clear sheet fogs when a cold pack meets warm air, and the product disappears behind the droplets. Anti-fog sheet spreads the moisture into a thin, clear film instead.

Tell us if the pack goes into a chiller so we specify the right grade from the start.

Modern RPET sheet comes very close to virgin PET for clarity, and most shoppers would not see a difference on the shelf. That's why RPET is our standard clear sheet. PLA compostable clears are also available, though they carry a slight haze we'd point out before you choose them.

Where absolute clarity matters, such as a cosmetics or collectible pack, we can run virgin PET on the same tool.

All the branding moves onto the backing card, printed CMYK with spot UV where you want a logo to catch the light. We keep the card front restrained around the cavity, since the product is the reason for choosing a clear format, and put the detail on the back panel.

A short line about recycled content on the card tells buyers what the shell is made from.

Depth is set by the product, but deeper draws need a thicker starting gauge because the sheet stretches thin at the bottom corners. Thin corners scratch and crack more easily and can web where the sheet folds over itself. Cavity sizes are custom, cut to the product and the card.
