One eighth of an ounce, 3.5 grams, which is a weight and not a size. The bag itself is 3.5 by 4.5 inches, and it is sized to the volume of the material rather than the number on the label. Density varies widely between batches, so we size to fill volume and never to weight alone.

Related sizes at 1, 7, 14 and 28 grams share the same construction so a range looks consistent on the shelf.

Yes, to 16 CFR 1700.20, and the certification covers the zipper and film as one configuration. A compact CR track is used so the closure does not swallow half of a card-sized face. Above it sits a heat seal that tears on first opening, giving tamper evidence.

Swapping to a lighter laminate under the same zipper would be a different pack, so we hold the approved combination on every reorder.

Foil holds odour and light out, and on a small bag the metallised alternative gives up noticeably more of both. The PET, aluminium and PE laminate is the standard we recommend for anything sold at this weight. A budget BOPP, VMPET and LLDPE structure exists and costs less, with weaker odour performance.

We run the film at a heavier gauge than a food bag of the same size, so a small pack feels substantial in the hand.

Deep matte black is the base most retail eighths are built on, with soft-touch and hot foil as the upgrades. Because the whole bag sits in one hand, a soft-touch laminate is felt immediately. A small foil mark carries more weight on a card-sized face than it would on a larger pouch.

Spot gloss works as texture in small areas and holographic film appears on limited drops. There is no window option on this format.

Less than you expect, because the required symbol, potency and warning marks take a large share of a 3.5 by 4.5 inch face. We settle the mandatory layout before any design work begins, and the panel is planned so those marks fit at legible size. A thermal-printed area is reserved for batch and potency, which change weekly.

Brands that treat the warning panel as part of the design get a cleaner result than those who bolt it on last.

The run starts at 300 bags, lower than most of our pouch formats. A small-format bag uses little film, so the minimum was set with new drops and test batches in mind. Pricing tiers begin above 1,000 and runs extend to 100,000.

Each finish combination is its own run, so a matte black and a holographic version are two orders against the minimum.

Between 7 and 10 business days is the normal window after proof sign-off, written into every quote as 7 to 10 business days. A rush at 5 to 7 business days covers a fixed drop date. Samples take 5 to 7 business days, and we encourage filling one to confirm the CR track closes cleanly with product inside.

The sample cost comes back as a credit on the bulk order.

Yes, and the foil laminate is opaque by default, which is why there is no clear window on this format. Where a rulebook demands that contents are hidden, the metallised or foil layer already does the job and the printed exterior carries the full opacity. Where a window is wanted for a different market, a larger format in the range is the place for it.

Opaque film also blocks the light that degrades what is inside, so the barrier and the rule pull the same way.
