A snug individual cavity that holds each bomb still does more to prevent cracking than any upgrade to the outer box. Movement is what chips and crumbles the edges, so the insert is cut to the sphere with a little give instead of a tight squeeze. The outer carton needs a board that won't flex when cases are stacked in shipping.

Moulded pulp nests are an option if you want the cushioning in fibre.

Shrink wrap around each bomb is the barrier that works, and the box then protects and presents the wrapped sphere. Paperboard on its own lets damp air through over time, even with a coated stock. For a plastic-free line, compostable film is available, and we'd print an honest shelf-life line on the box to match.

For brands selling into humid regions, treat the individual wrap as part of the spec.

Colour and powder on the surface of a bath bomb rub off onto bare board, especially during shipping. A coated interior or a thin liner keeps the inside of the carton clean, and shrink wrap around the bomb stops the transfer altogether.

That matters most in gift boxes, where a marked interior looks shop-worn the moment the lid comes off.

Colour-accurate photography of the bomb, or a shot of it fizzing in the water, carries most of the sale when the product itself is wrapped. Scent comes across through the palette and botanical artwork, the same cues candle and beauty brands use. We print CMYK with Pantone matching and can add foil, embossing or soft-touch lamination.

A die-cut opening in the panel lets buyers see the real colours and inclusions through the wrap.

For sets of three, six or twelve, use a box with a fitted insert that gives every bomb its own cell. A trio usually runs about 9 × 3 × 3 in, and larger assortments suit a magnetic-closure box with a display tray inside. Arranging the bombs by colour gradient or scent family changes how the whole gift reads when it's opened.

A single bomb usually goes in a box around 3 × 3 × 3 in, but the right size comes from measuring the actual sphere after it's wrapped. Take the widest diameter and add the thickness of any insert plus a few millimetres of clearance, so the lid closes without pressing on the top. Novelty shapes need their own cavity dimensions.

Custom bath bomb boxes have a 500-unit minimum. For a maker producing a few hundred bombs a month, that first run covers a couple of months of one scent, and orders can go up to 100,000 as the range grows.
