A rigid soap box is chipboard wrapped in printed or specialty paper, with a separate lid or a hinged top. The board doesn't flex the way a folding carton does, so the box survives being kept on a shelf long after the bar is used up. Textured and cloth-effect wrap papers are common at this tier.

Lined interiors keep bar oils off the board.

We design the ventilation in, with discreet perforations or a lid that sits slightly loose so air can move. An airtight rigid box looks beautiful, but a bar sealed inside can sweat and soften. The other route is a breathable inner wrap around the soap, with the rigid box doing the presenting.

Perforations can sit under a lid edge or in the base where they don't show.

Each bar gets its own fitted compartment, so the bars stay apart and nothing shifts when the box is tilted or shipped. The dividers are wrapped to match the interior, so the set reads as one piece when the lid comes off. A compartment can also hold a small dish or bottle if the set mixes items.

Foil and deboss together are the usual pairing, often on a soft-touch wrap paper. Keep the finishing small in scale, since a big foil block can look heavy on a bar-sized lid. We print CMYK and Pantone and can add spot UV or embossing as well.

A single-bar rigid box is commonly about 3.5 × 2.5 × 1.2 in, and a set box around 8 × 6 × 2 in. We measure from the bar's length, width and height, then allow for the lining, any inner wrap and the wall thickness of rigid board, which is thicker than carton stock.

We would pick rigid for gift sets and hotel or spa retail, and a heavy folding carton for everyday premium bars. Rigid boxes arrive assembled and take more storage space, but they hold their shape and tend to get kept. A well-finished folding carton gives much of the same shelf presence at a lower cost.

Luxury soap packaging is made to order from 500 boxes. The top of the range is 100,000, which suits hotel and spa groups stocking amenity sets across several properties.

For a new gift set, a first run at the minimum lets you test the presentation before the holiday season.

Rigid soap boxes are produced in 7 to 10 business days once artwork is signed off, or in 5 to 7 with a rush booking. A finished sample takes 5 to 7 business days, and it's the best way to judge the wrap paper and foil in hand. The fee is credited to the production order if you proceed.
