Belt Boxes
Long and narrow with a coiled load, a format that punishes any box that flexes.
A rolled belt is dense and concentrated in one spot. Narrow boxes lose rigidity along their length, so the specification runs heavier than the size suggests.

Every detail. Intentional.
Narrow means flexible
Caliper runs above the size.
Coiled load is concentrated
Dense weight in one place.
Insert holds the coil
Rolling ruins the presentation.
Buckles need clearance
Metal against a lid marks it.
Windows show the leather
Grain is the sales argument.
Leather-goods finishes
Debossing, foil, dark stock.

Built like architecture.
Every order of Belt Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Belt Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Belt Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Belt Boxes.
The belt is coiled with the buckle at the centre, facing up, and seated in a ring-shaped well insert. The insert keeps the coil wound so it doesn't spring open and tangle when the lid comes off. We size the ring so the strap follows a gentle curve with no kink, because a tight bend can leave a crease.
The lid comes off to show the buckle first, which is the classic way belts are presented.
Stiff straps, heavy western belts and anything that fights being coiled go into a long flat box. Our flat format is about 13 x 4 x 2 inches. A box that long and narrow flexes along its length, so we specify a heavier board than the footprint suggests.
A fitted insert stops the strap sliding from end to end and keeps the buckle from knocking the end panel.
We leave clearance above the buckle and line the interior with tissue, so metal never rubs straight against the lid. A coiled belt is dense, and in transit the buckle presses into whatever sits above it. Without that gap a polished buckle marks the lid and picks up scratches in return.
Interior surfaces are kept smooth and acid-free, and we leave out any sealed plastic film against the leather.
Yes, set boxes with separate compartments for a strap and one or more buckles are a regular order for us. Each piece sits in its own die-cut pocket, so buckles can't knock against each other or scratch the leather. The layout is drawn around your actual parts.
Send us the strap width and the buckle measurements, tongue included, and we'll draft the insert free of charge.
Foil stamping and debossing on a dark board suit leather goods best, in our view. A foil maker's mark on the lid echoes the stamp on the belt, and printed saddle-stitch lines along the edges give a workshop cue. Western brands tend to go further with tooled patterns and buckle imagery.
Full CMYK and spot UV are available. We'd keep a dress belt box restrained and save the busier artwork for a western range.
A coiled belt box is roughly 5 inches square, with depth set by the strap width and the buckle. Our standard coiled size is 5 x 5 x 2.5 inches, which fits a typical dress belt. Wide straps and chunky buckles need more depth, and we set that from a measured sample.
We can change either dimension to suit your range, and the well insert is redrawn to match.
Belt box orders begin at 500 pieces. Coiled and flat formats share that minimum, and set boxes with buckle compartments do too. We can produce up to 100,000 in a run.
If you sell both dress and western belts, it's worth sampling one of each format before choosing how to split the order.
We quote 7 to 10 business days for production after the artwork proof is signed. A faster rush slot of 5 to 7 business days is available. Because the well insert has to fit your actual coil, a sample is sensible, and at 5 to 7 business days it doesn't add much. Its fee is credited to the production order.
We send finished boxes anywhere in the USA.
