Candle Shipping Boxes.

B-flute corrugated is the floor we work from for a filled glass candle. A jar full of wax is dense for its size, and a lighter board flexes enough on a hard drop to let the glass reach the wall. Heavier vessels and multi-candle mailers move up a grade from there.

Give us the filled weight of the candle and the number going in each box, and we'll set the board from those two figures.

It holds the vessel in the centre of the box so the glass touches no outer wall at any point. When the parcel lands on a corner, the board and the insert crush first and the rim is spared. Rims fail before any other part of a jar, so the insert grips the body and leaves clear space around the top.

Void fill should only take up whatever gap the insert leaves. A candle loose in crinkle paper moves, and a moving jar is the one that arrives cracked.

Each jar gets its own cell, built from interlocking corrugated partitions that run the full height of the case. Glass against glass is the main risk in a wholesale shipment, and the partitions keep every vessel apart even when the case is tipped on its side. The common 12-count case is about 16 by 12 by 8 inches.

We can print the cell count and the scent on the outer panel so a stockroom picks the right case without opening it.

Yes, a printed mailer-style shipper means no outer carton is needed. For mid-priced candles sold online it saves a second box and a packing step. With higher-priced candles, a printed retail box inside a plain shipper keeps the presentation packaging from being scuffed by the carrier.

Either way the insert does the protecting. The printed outer only decides what the customer sees on the doorstep.

Brand artwork across the exterior, plus the handling marks a carrier needs to see. CMYK and PMS print, foil stamping, spot UV and matte soft-touch or gloss lamination are all available. Fragile and this-way-up marks are better printed into the board, since stickers get skipped at a busy packing bench.

For summer we can add an insulated liner kit inside the shipper, and a printed line on the flap can explain that orders are held for cooler dispatch days.

We size from the outside of the insert, then add the wall thickness and as little void as possible. A common single-candle shipper runs about 5 by 5 by 6 inches. Every spare cubic inch counts against you once carriers apply dimensional weight, so an oversized box costs money on every order you send.

Send the filled jar with its lid, and tell us whether a retail carton goes inside. That second layer changes the internal size.

You can start with 500 shippers on a single design. For a small studio sending 40 or 50 orders a month, that covers most of a year's dispatch, and the boxes store flat until they are needed. Larger programmes run up to 100,000 units.

Divider cases for wholesale accounts are a different build, so they're quoted as a separate design with a minimum of their own.

Production runs 7 to 10 business days from artwork approval, or 5 to 7 business days on a rush. A sample shipper with its insert reaches you in 5 to 7 business days, and that's the time to fill it with real candles and drop it before committing to the run.
