Sizing & dieline.
We cut Candle Subscription Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Candle Subscription Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Candle Subscription Boxes.
Corrugated mailer board, E-flute for a single light candle and B-flute once the box carries more than one jar. Glass by courier every month is a heavier load than most subscription boxes carry, which is why the board sits above what apparel boxes use. A double-wall option covers the heaviest multi-candle editions.
The mailer is self-locking and ships direct with no overbox, so the outer board is the only thing between the courier and the candle.
A fitted cavity insert, die-cut to the vessel, seats the candle upright in the middle of the mailer. Lying loose in shred, a jar rolls into the walls and arrives on its side, which is a poor first look for a paying subscriber. The cradle presents it the way you want it seen when the lid opens.
Moulded pulp seats are the alternative for a fully paper box. Both work best when every month's candle uses the same vessel, so one insert die serves the whole year.
Yes, accessory bays can be cut into the same insert that holds the candle. A slot for a match booklet, a channel for a wick trimmer and a pocket for the monthly scent card are the usual layout. Each bay is cut to its item so nothing rattles against the glass on the way.
Keep the bays the same size from month to month if you can. Swapping the accessory itself costs nothing, but changing its dimensions means a new insert die.
Keep the mailer constant and change a printed sleeve or the scent-story card each season. The box carries the brand in a full interior print, which is where the subscriber actually looks, and a seasonal sleeve over the outside changes the whole impression for far less than a new box run. The exterior takes CMYK print with matte or gloss lamination, or stays kraft natural.
A sheet of tissue laid over the pour surface adds a small reveal before the candle itself is seen.
The common single-candle mailer is 8 by 8 by 5 inches, and a multi-candle box runs about 12 by 8 by 5 inches. Both are internal sizes, with room for the insert, the accessory bays and a card on top. We finalise the size from your vessel and the fullest month's contents.
Right-sizing pays twice on a subscription, because an oversized box is paid for once in board and again in postage on every shipment you send.
A kraft corrugated mailer with a moulded pulp seat recycles as one paper stream, with nothing for the subscriber to separate. Film lamination complicates that, so brands making a recycling claim usually print on kraft natural or white coated liner and leave the film off. A water-resistant coating is available for boxes left on a wet doorstep.
If you want a recycling mark on the base, we'll place it on the dieline with the rest of the artwork.
The minimum is 500 boxes per printed design, which is a little over 40 subscribers for twelve months. Runs go up to 100,000. Because the mailer stays the same while sleeves and cards change, one printed run can serve several seasons of artwork.
Flat-packed mailers take up little room, so holding a year of stock is practical for most small subscription brands.
Allow 7 to 10 business days of production once the proof is approved, and 5 to 7 business days if the order is rushed. Before that, take a sample. It arrives in 5 to 7 business days, and packing it with a real candle and dropping it from waist height tells you more than any drawing.
Build the sample into the calendar ahead of your first ship date. Its fee is credited to the bulk order, and the boxes go to any address in the USA.
