A tear notch above the zipper handles the first opening. After that the bag is reclosed on the zipper every time, and it has to relock to the certified standard after each use.

A typical build is a PET outer, a foil or metallised middle and a PE sealant inside. The PET takes the print, the foil layer blocks moisture and oxygen and hides the contents, and the PE lets us heat seal the edges.

Smell-proofing comes from the laminate structure, so the barrier layers you pick decide how well the bag holds odour. A kraft paper outer is available for a natural finish.

No, the certification covers the zipper and the film together, so a new film needs new testing. A certified zipper sealed into a different laminate doesn't carry the rating across on its own, which is a common misunderstanding.

If you want a cheaper or recyclable film later, plan it as a new certified build. Check zipper track alignment on every sample, since a misaligned track can defeat the lock.

We print full-coverage CMYK across both faces, finished in matte, gloss or metallic. Matte film is the usual dispensary choice and holds fine type well. Metallic film shows through any unprinted areas as a bright foil effect.

These bags are opaque, with no window patch. Opening instructions go near the zipper on the front, where a first-time buyer will see them.

Common flat sizes are 3.5 × 5 in, 4 × 6 in and 6 × 9 in, measured width by height. These are flat pouches without a stand-up gusset, so they lie flat in a drawer or hang from a peg by the hang hole.

Recyclable mono-material films are coming into this category, but check the CR status of any specific build before you switch. Most certified bags still use a mixed laminate of PET, foil and PE, which curbside programs don't take.

If recyclability is the priority, ask us which mono-material builds have been tested with a CR zipper. A kraft paper outer changes the look but not the laminate underneath.
