Two small metal objects to hold, and the insert does all the work the box gets credit for.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Cufflink Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Cufflink Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Cufflink Boxes.
Each link sits in its own slot in a flocked or foam-lined cradle, face up and unable to move. Cufflinks are heavy for their size, and without a fitted insert they slide together and scratch in transit. The slots are cut to your link's shank so they grip without forcing.
Chain-link styles that don't sit upright in a slot go into an elastic loop system instead.
Two-piece lift-off, hinged flip-lid and drawer styles are all available, as is a magnetic closure. The flip-lid is the classic watch-box opening, and a snap-shut hinge stands up to repeated handling at the counter. Drawer boxes slide open and suit a gift set.
For groomsman gifts we'd go with the flip-lid, since the pair is seen the moment it opens.
Rigid board holds its corners and hinge under repeated handling in a way folding carton can't. We build these on 2mm rigid board, then wrap it in leatherette, suede paper or printed art paper. The weight of the box in the hand also matches the weight of the metal inside.
A folding carton at this size tends to crush in a pocket or a gift bag, and its hinge fatigues quickly.
Yes, initials in hot foil are a standard option, and we can run a matched set with a different monogram on each box. The rest of the design stays the same across the set, so the boxes look like a group when they are handed out. Embossed brand marks and CMYK inner print are available alongside.
A ribbon pull and a small space for a gift note inside the lid finish the set.
Velvet or satin inserts, or a flocked cradle, keep polished and plated surfaces off hard board. Any hard edge rubbing against a link in transit leaves fine scratches. A soft lining with a slight give also stops the pair rattling.
Suede paper lining is the modern alternative, and a kraft interior suits a contemporary brand that wants a less formal box.
Our common sizes are 3 x 3 x 1.5 inches and 3.5 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches. The square box takes a pair side by side in a single cradle, and the oblong one sets them in a line. Both fit in a jacket pocket, which matters for a gift handed over at a wedding.
If you're adding a tie bar or studs, we'll size a set box around all the pieces.
We need an order of at least 500 boxes. That quantity suits a jeweller or menswear shop stocking a year of gift boxes in one design. Orders can run as high as 100,000.
Ask about initials or wedding-party sets when you request the quote, since they affect the foil tooling.
Production is 7 to 10 business days after proof approval, or 5 to 7 on rush. Rigid boxes with foil and an insert are worth seeing in the hand first, so a sample in 5 to 7 business days is the usual step. Whatever the sample costs is taken off your production invoice.
Finished boxes are delivered anywhere in the country.
