Sizing & dieline.
We cut Custom Donut Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Custom Donut Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Everything you need to know about Custom Donut Boxes.
Warm donuts give off steam, and in a sealed box that steam turns the glaze sticky. Vent die-cuts in the lid and sides let it escape, so the glaze stays set on the drive to the office.
We place the vents where they don't cut into your printed logo on the lid. A windowed retail version keeps the vents and adds a film panel.
Our donut boxes are built to erect and load in seconds, with a hinged lid that opens flat for counter loading and closes with a one-handed front tuck. Shops fold hundreds before eight in the morning, so every extra step costs time.
The boxes arrive flat and pop up with a few folds. Staff fill the single layer from above and tuck the lid shut.
Stacking donuts crushes the glaze and frosting on the lower layer, so the box is shallow and wide and holds one rank. The standard height is 3.5 inches, which clears a topped donut without leaving room to stack.
For catering orders of several dozen, we build E-flute corrugated boxes that stack on each other instead, each still holding a single layer inside. Their coated interior stops fry grease showing through by lunchtime.
Treat the lid as a billboard, because the box is carried flat into offices and opened in front of a group. One-colour flexo is the volume standard and keeps unit costs low on large runs.
Artisan shops use full litho for photo-quality art, and the classic pink box still works as a register. If your logo sits near a vent die-cut, we'll move one or the other on the dieline.
A dozen box is 16 × 9 × 3.5 in and a half-dozen is 9 × 9 × 3.5 in. Both hold a single layer, with the height set for glazed and topped donuts.
Filled or oversized donuts may need different spacing, so bring us a count and the diameter of your largest donut and we'll check the footprint before quoting.
Custom donut boxes have a 500-unit minimum. A busy shop works through that in short order, so most reorder in larger quantities once the artwork has proven itself on the counter.
If you sell both half-dozen and dozen boxes, each size is set up as its own item. Keeping one-colour flexo across both makes reorders simple.
Your boxes are produced in 7 to 10 business days after sign-off, or in 5 to 7 business days if you book a rush. Sample boxes take 5 to 7 business days, and the sample fee is credited on the production order.
We'd run a sample if you're adding a window lid or moving vents, since both change how the lid folds.
Yes, natural kraft suits an artisan shop, and we offer a compostable option alongside the standard 18pt clay-coated board. Each of them needs a greaseproof or coated interior, since fry oil turns plain board translucent within hours.
The clay-coated board is the most wipeable and gives the brightest print. Kraft suits a shop that wants a plainer, natural look on the counter.
