Sizing & dieline.
Every Gift Bags is made to your fill, not pulled off a shelf. A pouch is quoted width × length. Tell us what goes inside and how much of it, and we return a measured spec, free, before you commit to anything.
A pouch is sized by what goes in it, not by outside dimensions. Give us the fill weight and, if you can, the bulk, since 500 g of granola needs far more bag than 500 g of powder.
We quote width × length. Flat pouches need no gusset figure, because the bag lies flat when empty.
Zipper or heat seal only, valve or no valve, window or full barrier. These change the film and the bag height, so they belong in the spec rather than added afterwards.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Gift Bags per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Gift Bags.
Our gift bags use 157 to 210gsm art paper, which is closer to light card than to the kraft used for shopping bags. The heavier sheet keeps its shape on the shelf and doesn't crease when the bag is handed over.
Lamination comes as standard at this tier, gloss or matte, and it protects the print from scuffs. Kraft gift grades are available for a natural look, and hand-made builds give a rigid, luxury feel.
Gifts weigh more than they look, so a base board spreads the load and stops the bottom bowing. A second board inside the top hem stiffens the mouth, which is where the handles pull hardest.
Without the hem board, a heavy gift can tear a handle straight out through the paper. Both boards are included as standard on every build we quote in this format.
Ribbon, cotton rope and grosgrain are the usual choices, threaded through eyelets or knotted inside the hem. The handle is the first thing people notice, and it tends to signal how premium the bag is.
Satin ribbon reads as beauty and fashion, and rope suits a more casual gift. We can colour-match handles to your print and add a matching tag tied to the handle.
Hot foil is the most common upgrade, used for a logo or a line of type on a matte laminated face. Embossing adds a raised mark and works best on hand-made builds, and spot UV picks out one element in gloss.
Print is CMYK with PMS matching for brand colours. Window patches and holographic finishes aren't available on this format.
Most retailers stock small, medium and large, plus a tall bottle bag. Our common sizes are 5.5 × 3 × 8 in for small, 8 × 4 × 10 in for medium and 13 × 5 × 10 in for large.
Dimensions are given as width, gusset and height. Bottle bags need a narrow base and extra height, so we size them from the actual bottle, and anything else can be cut to a custom size.
Machine-made bags are the right call for volume, and hand-made builds are for luxury retail where the corners get looked at closely. The difference shows at the base and the top fold, where hand-finished bags have crisper edges and a more rigid feel.
Hand-made construction also takes emboss and foil more cleanly. If a bag is going out across a checkout in the thousands, machine-made is what we'd quote first.
We produce gift bags from 500 pieces upward. A boutique can cover a season with that first run in one size and one design.
Orders can reach 100,000 for seasonal programs across a chain, and the artwork setup costs you nothing at any quantity.
Production takes 7 to 10 business days from proof approval, with a 5 to 7 day rush available. For a holiday assortment, we'd confirm the order in early autumn so the bags arrive before stores get busy.
Samples come back in 5 to 7 business days, which gives you time to check the handles and the foil before ordering bulk. The sample fee is credited to your bulk order, and we deliver throughout the USA.
