Sizing & dieline.
We cut Paper Tray for Donuts to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Paper Tray for Donuts per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Everything you need to know about Paper Tray for Donuts.
Use a tray when the donuts are eaten on the spot, at a café table, a market stall or a food truck window. The box is for carrying home, and for two or four donuts eaten now it's more packaging than the job needs.
Our trays are a single die-cut with one fold, no lid and no film, which makes them the cheapest class of food-service packaging we build.
We use clay-coated board or greaseproof kraft, since there's no lid or liner to share the job. On a tray the donut sits directly on the board, so grease resistance is close to the whole material spec.
A plain uncoated tray would turn translucent under a glazed or fried donut before it's finished. A gloss coat on top adds a wipeable surface.
The walls run 1 to 1.5 inches, low enough to show the glaze and high enough to keep donuts from rolling off. A tray is meant to present the donuts, and deeper walls would hide them.
The footprint is kept snug so nothing slides when someone walks with the tray in one hand. Mini donuts get their own variants in multiples of the standard counts.
A bold single colour on white board, or a kraft tray with a simple mark, suits most food-truck and market brands. The tray sits at face height the whole time someone is eating, so the logo gets more attention than you'd expect from a one-fold piece.
Print wraps the outside walls, where it faces the customer. A gloss coat keeps it clean through service.
The 2-count tray is 7 × 3.5 × 1.5 in and the 4-count is 7 × 7 × 1.5 in. Both hold ring donuts side by side with a small margin at the walls.
For minis or filled donuts we adjust the footprint, and custom sizes are quoted from the dieline up. Send your donut diameter and the count you serve.
Printed donut trays have a minimum of 500. Trays go quickly at a busy stall, so many vendors order larger quantities, and runs scale all the way to 100,000.
They arrive flat-stacked, which keeps them compact in a food truck or under a counter until they're needed. Each one folds up in a single move at the point of service.
Donut trays leave production 7 to 10 business days after artwork approval, and 5 to 7 on a rush. A sample tray takes 5 to 7 business days, and the sample fee is credited against the main order.
With a single die-cut there is little to go wrong structurally, so the sample is mostly a colour check on kraft or coated board. We deliver anywhere in the USA.
We make them in recycled board with post-consumer content, and a clean tray with no film goes back into paper recycling. A compostable option is available too.
Heavily greased trays are harder for recyclers to accept. Because the tray has no window or film, there is nothing to separate before it goes in the bin.
