Valentines Boxes
One week, red board, and the highest expectation of any seasonal format.
Valentine's packaging is judged closely because it is handed over in person. Finish quality and shape work harder here than in any other season.

Every detail. Intentional.
Handed over in person
Which raises the scrutiny.
Heart dies are demanding
No straight lines anywhere.
Red is hard to print well
Density and consistency both.
Shine and depth combined
The season's expected grammar.
One selling week
Then the stock is dead.
Booked long before February
Slots are gone by autumn.

Built like architecture.
Every order of Valentines Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Valentines Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Valentines Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Valentines Boxes.
A heart box is built from rigid board, with a curved wall bent and wrapped around a heart-shaped base. Because there are no straight edges, the wrap paper has to be cut and pleated carefully so it doesn't wrinkle on the curves or lift at the point.
The lid is made the same way, slightly larger, so it seats over the base with an even gap all round.
Red shows every shift in ink density, so small variations across a run become obvious when boxes sit side by side. A CMYK red is built from magenta and yellow, and it can drift toward orange or pink.
We print Valentine's reds with a PMS spot colour for that reason and check density during the run. Laminate changes how red reads too, so approve colour on a laminated proof.
A lidded gift box with a divided insert holds a small set of treats and tokens neatly. The dividers keep each item in place, so the arrangement you packed is the one the recipient sees.
For galentine gifts, brighter pinks and oranges replace the classic crimson. The same die can carry both styles with only the print changed, which saves a second tool.
Gold foil on crimson is the classic, and rose gold or copper on blush pink is the modern alternative. Embossing adds depth under the foil, and a spot UV gloss on a matte base gives the shine the season expects.
Holographic finishes aren't among this box's options. Personalised foil names and dates are where Valentine's buyers spend most readily, and we proof each name before the plate is made.
Our common heart box measures 8 × 7.5 × 2 in, and the rectangular gift box is 10 × 8 × 3 in. A heart is measured across its widest point and from the top of the lobes down to the tip.
Classroom formats are much smaller and usually hold a single treat. Give us the inner size you need and we'll draw the shape to fit it.
Production begins at 500 boxes a design. Classroom micro-boxes usually go far beyond that, and larger retail programmes can reach 100,000.
A curved heart needs its own tooling, so it pays to keep the shape the same for several years and change only the print each February. Your second season then carries no tooling cost at all.
Standard lead time is 7 to 10 business days from approval, and we can compress that to 5 to 7 with rush. Samples take 5 to 7 business days, and the amount you pay for one is credited when the bulk order goes ahead.
The selling window closes on February 14 and stock left on the 15th rarely moves, so approve the sample well before the new year.
Where chocolate touches the packaging, we use a food-contact stock for the tray or insert. The rigid outer and its wrap never touch the pieces, so the decorative paper can be chosen for colour and texture alone.
Chocolate grease stains an uncoated insert over time. A coated or glassine-lined cavity keeps the tray clean until the box is opened.
