Watch Boxes
A pillow, a hinge and a lining, a short specification that forgives nothing.
The cushion holds the strap open at the right diameter; the lining prevents case marks. Everything else is presentation around those two functions.

Every detail. Intentional.
The pillow sets the diameter
Strap open, watch face-up.
Lining protects the case
Plating marks at a touch.
Hinge holds its angle
It must stay open for viewing.
Rigid from lid to base
Substance carries the tier.
Kept indefinitely
Storage box as much as pack.
Foam density tuned
Firm to hold, soft to lift.
Built like architecture.
Every order of Watch Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Watch Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Watch Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Watch Boxes.
The strap or bracelet wraps around a cushion so the watch sits dial-up, and the cushion's diameter sets how tight that fit is. Too small and the watch turns on the pillow, which is how casebacks get scratched in transit. Too large and a closed bracelet won't go over it. We size the cushion from your strap's inner circumference.
The cushion is foam with a velvet or satin cover, firm enough to grip and soft enough that the watch lifts off easily.
Line every surface the case can touch in velvet, satin or flock. Polished steel and plated cases mark against bare board or a rough seam. The lining covers the bed and the underside of the lid, and the glue stays behind it so none reaches the surface.
A silk-screened logo inside the lid gives the dial a backdrop without adding anything raised that could press on the crystal when the box is closed.
Yes, we fit a stay-angle hinge that holds the lid open at a fixed angle, so the watch can be shown on a counter. A plain paper hinge flops back or drifts shut. On the premium tier, a push-button latch at the front gives a firmer close than the standard magnetic catch.
The hinge is the part that wears first on a box opened often, so we'd spend the budget there before adding extra finishes.
A single-cushion box is commonly about 4 × 4 × 3.5 in, which fits most cases from dress sizes up to large divers. Measure the watch on the cushion with the strap closed, then add clearance above the crown and the crystal. Cases over about 45mm usually need a deeper lid.
Travel cases, multi-watch collector boxes and winder formats are built to custom sizes. We draw the dieline free once you send case and strap measurements.
They go under the tray or in a shallow drawer beneath the cushion, so the documents stay with the watch without sharing its space. A lift-out tray with a card compartment underneath is the simplest build. A pull-out drawer in the base gives a neater reveal and suits a booklet, a certificate and a polishing cloth.
Keeping paper out of the watch bed also stops card edges pressing against the case.
Leatherette upholstery with a coach-stitch detail is the traditional watch-trade finish, and soft-touch wrapped board is the modern alternative. Hot foil and blind emboss both sit well on leatherette. A domed lid profile adds to the classic look but needs a hand operation at every corner.
Inside, full-colour print on the lid interior or a satin backdrop sets off the dial when the box opens. A gift-wrap option is available for retailers who want boxes ready to hand over.
Our floor for watch boxes is 500 units, and larger programmes go up to 100,000. The run covers one construction, one cushion size and one finish. If two of your models wear on the same strap length, one cushion covers both and they can share an order.
Travel cases count as a separate build with their own 500 minimum, since the shell and the cushion fixing are different.
Once the proof is approved, expect 7 to 10 business days for production, or 5 to 7 on rush. We'd always sample first on this format, and a sample takes 5 to 7 business days. Seat the actual watch on the cushion and work the hinge over and over before signing it off.
You get the sample fee back as a credit on the bulk order, and we ship anywhere in the USA.
