Overview

Advent Calendar

Twenty-four doors that all have to open cleanly — the hardest die-cut job in seasonal print.

Each window is a perforated flap that must open once, without tearing the panel behind it. Registration between the die and the print is unforgiving.

Crafted to specification

Every detail. Intentional.

Twenty-four flaps, no failures

Each opens once, cleanly.

Registration must be exact

The image behind is tiny.

Backing board holds the shape

Or doors curl before December.

Filled versions need trays

Chocolate or beauty inserts.

Ordered in spring

Seasonal capacity books early.

Used once, kept anyway

Which justifies better print.

24-Door Die Cutting
Individually cut and hinged doors aligned to the cavities behind them.
Food-Safe Insert Trays
Vacuum-formed 24-cavity trays for confectionery.
Custom Cavity Inserts
Sized to non-food products, which vary far more than chocolate.
Drawer Formats
Premium, reusable and refillable — a second and third Christmas.
Standing and Hanging Structures
Easel backs and wall hangers.
Seasonal Capacity Booking
Production slots secured ahead of the peak.
Foil and Premium Finishes
The finishing this category expects.
Numbering Verification
A check pass on door numbering and cavity alignment specifically.
Short Lead Time Production
This is the most complex build in a seasonal range. Starting in autumn is usually already too late — spring is when advent projects should begin.

Measure Twice

Sizing & dieline.

Every Advent Calendar is cut to a dieline built around your product — not pulled off a shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.

How to measure
01
Measure the product

Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points — not the box you happen to use today.

02
Add clearance

Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.

03
Give us the order

We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.

✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product — we measure it and build the dieline.

What It Costs

Pricing & minimums.

Advent Calendar is priced per specification rather than from a fixed list — the same box in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.

What moves the price
Quantity

The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.

Material and thickness

Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.

Finishing

Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.

Print coverage

Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.

Inserts and hardware

Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.

Timeline

Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

— Frequently Asked Questions —

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about Advent Calendar.

Spring. That is not caution — an advent calendar is the most complex thing in a seasonal range and it has an absolutely fixed deadline.

Why it takes so long:

  • 24 individually die-cut, hinged doors. Each needs tooling, and each must align precisely with the compartment behind it. Misalignment means doors opening onto the wrong cavity.
  • Insert tooling. If it holds chocolate you need a food-safe vacuum-formed tray; if it holds products, cavities sized to each item.
  • More proofing than a normal carton. Door alignment and numbering both need physical verification, not just a digital proof.
  • Seasonal capacity. Every printer is running seasonal work in the same weeks.

Brands that begin in September are usually already too late for anything complex, and end up either compromising the build or missing the season entirely — and a calendar that arrives in December has lost most of its value.

Work backwards from your on-shelf date, add proofing time for the door alignment specifically, and start earlier than feels necessary.
