Saddle stitching holds up to around 64 to 80 pages before creep starts pushing the inner pages out past the trim. Beyond that we move to perfect binding, which needs enough page depth to form a glueable spine, typically from 40 to 60 pages upward. Either way the page count has to be a multiple of four, because every printed sheet folds to give four pages.

Uncoated or silk, never gloss, because gloss throws glare across a page of tables. Uncoated is the most specified choice on reports. It is easy on the eye over a long read and it registers as considered rather than promotional. Silk is the answer where the report carries a lot of photography, since it reproduces images well with far less reflection than gloss.

Mixed stocks are common, with uncoated for the text sections and coated for an imagery section.

Yes, wire-o binding opens completely flat, which matters where the financial tables are consulted rather than read once. A perfect-bound spine will always curve at the gutter, so column alignment near the spine needs planning around the binding method. We lay out the tables with that in mind whichever binding you choose.

Matt lamination is the most requested cover, with an uncoated cover as the understated alternative. Matt protects the cover on a shelf without glare and handles well over years. Foil is kept restrained on this format, usually the logo or the year, and soft-touch lamination is the option when the report doubles as a piece of corporate positioning.

Tabbed or coloured section dividers help readers find their way to the numbers.

A4 at 8.27 × 11.69 inches or US Letter at 8.5 × 11 inches are the two standard trims. Sizes are given as the finished, trimmed page, width first. Custom trims are possible but they cost more in paper waste, so most organisations stay with the standard sheet their readers already file.

The floor is 500 copies. That covers short runs for shareholders, staff and regulators, and we can print up to 100,000 for a widely distributed public report. Digital print keeps the lower end of that range affordable, and the unit price improves once an order clears 1,000 copies.

Allow 7 to 10 business days from approved artwork, or 5 to 7 business days on a rush schedule. Filing dates do not move, so we book press time when the page count is confirmed rather than when the final proof lands. A printed sample takes 5 to 7 business days, and its cost is credited when the full order goes ahead.

Acid-free stock resists yellowing over the years a report is retained. It is a small upgrade on a document that is read once and then kept, sometimes for decades. Recycled paper is available across the range too, and on a report that includes sustainability figures the physical document backing them up is worth having. An unlaminated cover keeps the whole thing recyclable at the end.
