Black Paper Candle Tubes.

On this tier the board is black through its thickness, not a black wrap over grey. A printed wrap can show a pale edge where the wrap ends at the rim or at the seam. Black-through board has no pale edge to show, so the rim, the cap seat and the cut edges all read as the same colour.

Where a printed black wrap is the better choice, for a spot colour or a photographic element, we specify it that way and lay solid black litho over the sheet. The two builds cost about the same. The difference is how the edges behave.

Gold, copper and rose gold give the strongest contrast on black, with silver close behind. Black absorbs the light around the foil, so the metallic reads brighter than it does on white board.

Holographic foil also works but competes with matte black for attention, so it suits a small mark rather than a large panel. Keep the foil area to a logo, a name or a fine rule and the black does the rest.

Matte is the default, and soft-touch is the upgrade for gifting. Matte absorbs light, hides fingerprints better than gloss and gives foil its maximum contrast.

Soft-touch adds a velvet hand-feel that customers notice the moment they pick the tube up. It scuffs a little more easily in transit, so we recommend it for candles sold on a counter or shipped in an outer carton rather than loose.

We build the tube to the jar's diameter and height, then add a small clearance so the jar drops in without binding. Send us the jar or its measurements and we return a measured spec before you commit to anything.

The common starting points are 2.5 by 3.5 inches and 3 by 4 inches, which cover most 8 and 10 ounce vessels. Any diameter and height can be wound, so an unusual jar is not a problem.

Yes, when the wall is specified for the weight of the jar and the fit is snug. A heavier chipboard core stops the wall flexing under a full jar, and a fitted diameter stops the jar moving side to side.

For direct-to-consumer shipping we add a card or foam disc at each end so the jar cannot travel up into the cap. For retail, the tube on its own is the usual build.

Metal caps for the premium feel, paperboard caps for a single-stream recyclable pack. Tin-plate caps seat more firmly and add weight in the hand. Paperboard caps keep the finished tube all-fibre.

Caps are specified per end, so a metal top over a paperboard base is a common middle ground. It gives the crisp open without doubling the metal content.

300 units. That covers one diameter and height in one print design. Additional sizes in the same order are quoted as separate lines.

Below 300, a physical sample is the practical route for photography or a buyer meeting. Sample fees are credited against the production order.
