Two sheets of board bonded together, giving the thickest card we make. The bond lets us use a contrasting colour for the inner sheet, so a stripe of colour shows at the cut edge. Duplexing is how a card gets that dense, heavy feel that a single 400gsm sheet cannot reach, and it is the base most statement cards are built on.

Colour is applied to the cut face of the stacked cards after trimming, so the edge carries a stripe of ink. It shows best on thick or duplexed stock, where there is enough edge to see. On 350gsm the band is thin and easy to miss. We match the edge colour to a foil or a brand colour on the face, and it is inspected under the same close scrutiny as everything else on a card.

Uncoated, because it takes a pen and silk does not reliably. Our 350gsm silk is the commercial default, smooth with strong colour, but its surface resists ink from a ballpoint. The 400gsm uncoated is heavier, natural-feeling and accepts handwriting, which matters if people jot a mobile number on the back. Textured stocks like laid or cotton also take a pen and read as craft.

Spot UV, hot foil and a blind emboss all sit well over matt lamination, which is the base for most specialist finishes. Spot UV is felt before it is seen. Foil gives a true metallic that no ink can imitate, so we do not quote metallic-by-ink. Soft-touch lamination is the finish people comment on most, and it has largely displaced gloss on cards.

US standard is 3.5 × 2 inches, the EU standard is 85 × 55 mm, and a square card is 2.5 × 2.5 inches. Rounded corners and die-cut shapes are cut from those base sizes. A folded card doubles the flat sheet and is measured folded. Whatever the shape, the size we quote is the trimmed card, not the sheet it is cut from.

Our minimum is 500 cards. That can be one name or split across several people on the same design and stock, which is how most companies order. Short runs at 500 suit a new hire or a rebrand trial, while runs scale to 100,000 for large field teams.

Cards ship 7 to 10 business days after proof approval, and a rush order in 5 to 7 business days. A physical sample takes 5 to 7 business days, which we suggest on any card with edge paint, foil or a duplexed core, since those are the details you want to see in the hand. The sample charge is deducted from your production run.

Yes, recycled board with visible fibre is in the range and it holds up at the weights we use. We do not run thin economy stocks, so a recycled card is still substantial. If the whole card needs to be recyclable, skip lamination and use an emboss or foil for the detail, since an unlaminated uncoated card is the simplest to recycle.
