Sizing & dieline.
We cut Cannabis Packaging to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Cannabis Packaging per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Cannabis Packaging.
Most dispensary shelves run on four formats: child-resistant jars, child-resistant mylar bags, pre-roll tubes and branded cartons. Jars suit premium flower, mylar bags carry much of the eighth market, and tubes take pre-rolls and carts.
We make all four, which lets a brand keep one visual system across flower, pre-rolls and edibles instead of sourcing each format from a different supplier.
It pairs a compliant primary container with a branded secondary carton around it. The jar, bag or tube carries the child-resistant closure and the required marks, and the outer carton gives the brand room to work with foil, embossing and soft-touch.
Premium brands like the split because the compliance stack stays legible on the primary while the carton does the shelf selling. The carton board can also be recyclable kraft or SBS.
Yes, we set it up as a state-version system: one base design with a swappable plate for each market's symbol and warning block. The brand artwork, dieline and finishes stay fixed, and only the compliance layer changes from state to state.
You send the requirement list for each market and we lay out a panel with room for the required marks in every version. Each version then prints as its own run.
Matte lamination is the dispensary standard, and plenty of brands go further with soft-touch and a restrained foil accent. Much of the category has moved toward a wellness look, with clean type and plenty of open space around one metallic detail.
Spot UV and embossing add texture without adding colour, which helps when the compliance text already fills a panel. Gloss is available too, though it shows fingerprints on a counter that gets handled all day.
We keep a variable zone on the panel for batch data, usually an area laminated for thermal printing or left clear for a label. Batch numbers change weekly, so they never go into the printed artwork.
A QR code can sit alongside and point to the certificate of analysis, which gives shoppers the test results without taking more panel space. Tell us where your coder or labeller hits the pack and we'll plan the zone there.
Each format is sized to what goes in it, so we work from fill weight for bags and jars and from unit dimensions for pre-rolls and cartons. Jars are quoted by capacity and closure size, bags by width and height, and cartons by inside length, width and depth.
A state's panel rules can push a pack larger than the product needs, so we check the label area against your compliance list before locking any size.
You can open an order at 500 units for any format in the range. The upper end is 100,000, and a new brand can start at the bottom with one or two formats before adding the rest of the line.
If you're running several state versions, each version is its own print run and needs to meet the minimum separately.
Sampling takes 5 to 7 business days, and a standard production run then ships in 7 to 10 business days. When a dispensary launch date is fixed, rush production cuts that to 5 to 7 business days.
If you go ahead after the sample, its fee is deducted from the full run. We deliver across the USA, so a multi-state programme can ship straight to each market.
