Sizing & dieline.
We cut Child-Resistant Joint Packaging to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Child-Resistant Joint Packaging per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Child-Resistant Joint Packaging.
A squeeze-lock tube opens when you pinch two points on the cap, and a push-and-turn cap has to be pressed down and twisted at the same time. Both are certified child-resistant mechanisms, and each needs two coordinated actions from the person opening it.
Push-and-turn is the familiar pill-bottle action. If a lot of your customers are older, ask us about the senior-friendly versions of both mechanisms.
The closure goes through a protocol with two groups of testers: young children who try to open it, and adults who must be able to open and close it properly. A tube passes only when enough children fail and enough adults succeed.
We supply tubes whose mechanism has been tested to that protocol, so the child-resistant claim on your pack rests on a certified closure.
A well-built paper tube with a certified cap holds up in a pocket, though its stiffness comes from board thickness and winding where plastic gets it from the moulding. We spec the paper wall thick enough to resist the pocket pressure that crushes pre-rolls.
Plastic remains the category standard, glass is the premium tier, and paper is the route for brands moving off plastic. Paper tubes also take print directly, which saves a wrap label on some designs.
Yes, we build child-resistant multi-pack boxes that hold anywhere from 2 to 10 pre-rolls, laid out a bit like a cigarette pack. A common size is 4 × 3 × 1 in, with an insert that keeps each joint in its own channel.
Because the pack is opened and closed several times, we can add a slot for a humidity pack alongside the pre-rolls. The flat panels also give you far more print area than a single tube.
Most joint tubes carry a wrap label that runs all the way round the cylinder, so there are no separate panels to plan. The layout reads as a band, and the state symbol and required marks sit in a zone that faces the shopper in a display tray.
When the wrap runs out of room, a hang-tag on the cap adds space. Glass tubes can take a foil-stamped label for a premium single, and CMYK plus PMS covers the everyday range.
The common tube is about 0.5 in across and 4.5 in long, which suits a standard pre-roll. Kings, slims and infused joints vary, so we size the inside diameter and length to your actual product.
Leave a little clearance so the pre-roll slides out without catching on the cap. For multi-packs we measure the joints first and build the channels around them, then size the 4 × 3 × 1 in box or a custom one to suit.
We run child-resistant joint tubes from 500 pieces. The ceiling is 100,000, which is plenty for a brand supplying a chain of dispensaries on a regular schedule.
Tubes dressed with a wrap label can share one tube stock across several strains, with only the label changing. Design and dieline help comes free on either tubes or multi-packs.
Samples go out in 5 to 7 business days, and a full production order takes 7 to 10 business days. Rush production is available at 5 to 7 business days if you're up against a dispensary reset.
With a child-resistant closure, try the sample with your own team and a few older customers before you approve. We credit the sample fee back when the production order is placed.
