Cocoa butter migrates into bare paperboard and leaves grease marks that show through the print. A foil inner wrap or metallised film sits between the chocolate and the carton, so the fat never reaches the fibre.

The same inner layer blocks odour, which matters because chocolate absorbs smells readily from its surroundings. We pair it with odour-neutral board for the outer carton.

Heat is what causes bloom, so for warm months we add an insulated ship kit around the retail carton. Temperature cycling in transit is the main risk, more than any single hot day.

The carton itself can carry thermal handling marks so warehouses and carriers keep it out of the heat. Tell us which months you ship and to where, and we'll suggest when the insulated kit is worth adding.

A single bar needs a flat tray or sleeve that keeps it from sliding, while pieces need a cavity insert that holds each one apart. The two are separate insert problems and get separate dielines.

For segmented bars we keep the front panel wide enough to show the segment count and per-segment figures you supply. Assortments sit in a paperboard cavity tray cut to the shape of your pieces.

Hot foil on dark stock, soft-touch matte and embossing are the finishes chocolate buyers recognise. A matte register sits between craft chocolate and wellness, which suits how most CBD bars are positioned.

We print CMYK plus Pantone and can add spot UV on the logo. Opaque stocks help the pack read as something other than a regular candy bar.

A standard bar carton runs about 6 × 3 × 0.5 in, and an assortment box about 5 × 5 × 1 in. We measure the inside dimensions around the wrapped bar, not the bare chocolate, since the foil adds thickness.

Send us a wrapped sample and we'll set the tuck and clearance so the bar slides out without catching a corner.

Our floor for chocolate cartons is 500 units. From there, quantities go up to 100,000 as the line grows.

A 500-unit run is manageable for a seasonal flavour or a first launch, and it gives you real packs to send through a summer shipment before you place a larger order.

Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 business days from artwork approval. If a launch date is close, rush production runs 5 to 7 business days.

Samples take 5 to 7 business days, and we credit that fee back when the production order goes ahead. For summer launches, leave time to test the insulated kit alongside the carton.

The 18 to 20pt outer carton is paperboard and can be printed on our recyclable eco board. The foil or metallised inner layer comes off before the carton goes into the paper bin.

If you want the whole pack as simple to recycle as possible, a loose foil wrap separates from the board more cleanly than a laminated liner, and we'd keep film lamination off the outer.
