Uncoated kraft is our usual pick for a soap sleeve, because it takes on a little oil from the bar without showing a dark ring. Coated SBS looks sharper on day one, but a greasy bar can mark the coating and leave a stain that looks far worse than kraft ever would.

If you want a bright white carton anyway, matte lamination on the outside keeps splashes and fingerprints off the print.

We'd leave the pack partly open for a handmade bar, using a sleeve, a band or a die-cut cutout in the panel. A fully closed carton holds damp air around the soap, and shoppers like to smell the scent before they buy. A closed tuck carton with a tamper seal is still available when a retailer insists on one.

A shaped cutout, a leaf or a plain oval, goes on the same cutting die as the carton.

Bands and sleeves are the cheapest way to dress a bar, and they use less board than any other soap format we make. A band wraps the middle and leaves the ends bare, while a sleeve covers four sides and slides off. Both close with a printed sticker seal that's quick to apply by hand at a packing bench.

A narrow band has less panel space, so we check the ingredient copy and the mg per bar figure fit before the width is set.

On kraft we mostly print one or two PMS colours and add a deboss for the logo. Brown board soaks up ink and muddies full-colour photography, so line-drawn botanical artwork reads far better than a photo. For CMYK imagery we'd switch to SBS with matte or soft-touch lamination, where hot foil or spot UV can pick out the brand name.

We size to the cured bar you'll actually ship, because a bar measured fresh from the mould can be bigger than it is weeks later. Send the length, width and height of a finished bar and we add a small allowance so it slides in without scuffing the corners. A typical bar carton runs about 3.5 × 2.5 × 1.2 in.

Round and oval bars sit better in a sleeve or in a box with a shaped insert.

You can order as few as 500 soap cartons, sleeves or bands in a single design. That count lets a small maker test a new scent without tying up cash in stock. Larger quantities lower the unit cost, and we can quote several quantities side by side so you can compare them before committing.

Production runs 7 to 10 business days from artwork approval, and a rush slot shortens that to 5 to 7. A physical sample takes 5 to 7 business days, and we'd suggest one so you can test the fit with a real cured bar. The sample fee comes off your production invoice once you place the order.

Uncoated kraft and recycled grades go straight into curbside paper recycling, which suits a natural soap brand's story. Lamination and foil make the board harder to process, so a band printed in ink on bare kraft is the most recyclable soap pack we offer. A deboss adds a mark to the panel without adding any extra material at all.
