Custom Product Boxes.

We start from four questions: how it travels, how fragile it is, whether it sells on a shelf or online, and what it weighs. The travel route decides retail or shipper construction, fragility decides the insert, the sales channel decides print priorities and the weight decides board grade. Every box is measured from the product outward.

A stock size is never the starting point.

Tuck end for light products and low handling volume, lock bottom where the base takes weight, and auto-bottom where a packing line is filling boxes fast. The closure is chosen on handling volume rather than on looks. A crash-lock base squares up in one motion and saves labour on a long run.

Lid-and-base rigid construction is the answer for gifting and high-value products.

Only if the product can move inside the box, because movement is what breaks things. A snug carton with no gap doesn't need one. Regular shapes take a die-cut board insert, and curved, fragile or irregular items take a moulded pulp insert that spreads the support.

Leaving the insert out where it isn't needed is an honest cost saving, and we'll say so on the quote.

Full CMYK, matte lamination, soft-touch, kraft natural, foil, emboss and inside print, on any format we build. Matte hides fingerprints and soft-touch gives a velvet hand for first contact. Kraft suits artisan positioning without lamination.

Inside print is cheap, seen at the moment of opening, and usually left blank. We'd use it.

Fully custom, measured from the product's length, width and depth plus the clearance the insert or closure needs. There are no fixed sizes for this format. Send the product dimensions or the item itself and we'll draw the dieline to fit and send it back for approval.

Where a range shares one outer, we size to the largest item and vary the insert.

Runs begin at 500 pieces. Pricing is tiered past 1,000, and because the structure is drawn to your product there is no stock-size discount to lose by going custom. Retail and shipper builds of the same box are quoted side by side.

Free structural design covers the dieline whatever the quantity.

From approved artwork to dispatch is 7 to 10 business days. A rush slot runs 5 to 7 business days. Before that, a physical sample takes 5 to 7 business days, and we cut and fold one before every run so you can check the fit with the real product.

The sample charge is credited to the production order.

Folding boxboard for a retail route, E-flute corrugated for anything posted individually. Palletised retail handling is gentle and folding board with good print quality is usually fine. A parcel network is far harder on a box, and a retail-spec carton sent through it arrives crushed.

Both grades are recyclable. We won't quote retail-spec boxes for posting.
