Custom Seed Boxes.

A foil-lined packet gives a moisture and light barrier that plain paper cannot. Board on its own lets humidity through over a retail season that can run months. For high-value seed the liner repays itself quickly, and for cheap fast-turnover varieties a kraft paper packet is a reasonable spec.

The outer display box uses moisture-resistant board to slow ingress in a damp garden centre.

Light degrades some seed, so the packet and box use opaque stock rather than a window. The photograph of the mature plant on the front does the selling instead. Where a window is wanted on the display box, it shows the packets rather than the seed.

Uncoated stock gives a natural look for heritage and organic ranges without losing opacity.

Individual packets, counter display boxes and spinner-ready packs with hang tabs. The display box holds a multi-packet set for the till or the aisle end, and consistent packet sizing lets a full range fit one spinner. Category colour coding by plant type makes the display easy to shop.

Folding boxboard is used for the display boxes and moisture-resistant board for the packets.

Full CMYK artwork of the mature plant, a defined sow-by date zone, and a sowing instructions panel. The date zone is a clear printable area for date coding at packing. Germination percentage is a genuine quality signal where you test for it, and there's a set position for it.

Kraft natural suits heirloom ranges, and the colour-coded band identifies the category on the rack.

Packets run 3 by 4.5 inches and display boxes 7 by 5 by 4 inches. The packet is sized to the standard seed count with room for the barrier liner seam. Display boxes are built to hold a set number of packets upright with the header visible.

Keep the packet size consistent across the range so spinner slots and display boxes fit every variety.

Each packet or box design starts at 500 units. A range of varieties can share one structure and change only the print, with pricing tiered above 1,000 per design. The foil liner is quoted as an option so cheap and premium varieties can be costed on the same sheet.

Display boxes are ordered separately from the packets that fill them.

Standard production runs 7 to 10 business days after proof approval. A rush order is possible in 5 to 7 business days ahead of the sowing season. Samples come in 5 to 7 business days and the cost is credited against the bulk order.

Order early in the year so the packets are on the rack before the first sowing dates.

Kraft paper packets, folding boxboard display boxes and uncoated stock are all paper recycling. The foil-lined packet is the exception, since the barrier layer is a laminate. That's the trade-off for long shelf life on higher-value seed.

Recycled-content board is expected by gardeners, and it's the standard spec for the display boxes.
