Keeping the year off the box means any overrun rolls into next season, and only the cheap sleeve or card has to be replaced. Festive artwork goes on the sleeve in full CMYK while the box itself carries a design that works in any year. We will not date the box itself for that reason.

A postal-rated corrugated mailer is the most specified construction, because most kits go to home addresses with no outer carton. Peak-season parcel handling is the roughest of the year, and the mailer takes it. A rigid greyboard box is the premium option and travels inside a protective outer.

Either way the fitted insert holds the arrangement in place.

One insert with generic bays holds a varied set of items, so hundreds of kits can be assembled fast with mixed contents. Assembly speed is the real cost at volume, and a tray that only fits one arrangement slows the line. The bays are sized to the largest items and the smaller ones sit in the same cavities.

Hot foil in gold, copper or rose gold on a matt laminated base is the defining seasonal finish. Emboss or deboss adds a tactile detail that photographs well when recipients share the box. Full CMYK festive artwork sits on the dated sleeve, never on the box.

10 by 8 by 4 inches and 14 by 10 by 5 inches are the common formats. Sizes are quoted as internal dimensions, and the insert is drawn to the contents before the box is fixed. A mailer has to stay within courier parcel bands, so a smaller footprint often makes sense.

Our floor for a Christmas kit run is 500 units. That is a typical distribution list for a mid-sized firm, and the rate tiers down above 1,000. Because print capacity and courier peaks are shared with every other seasonal order, we book the slot at order time.

Order by September, because seasonal capacity is gone after that. Production takes 7 to 10 business days, or 5 to 7 business days on a rush, but courier cut-offs get earlier through December and the target delivery is early to mid month. A sample kit is made in 5 to 7 business days and its cost is credited against the bulk order.

Yes, if it is built postal rated, and everything we specify for this format is. Peak handling is rougher than any other month, so the mailer board grade and the fitted insert are chosen for that. Anything arriving after 23 December has largely missed its moment, which is why the schedule is planned backward from the delivery week.
