Description
Overview

Hardware Parts Boxes

Sharp, heavy and counted — three things a carton is not naturally good at.

Fasteners puncture thin board and concentrate weight in a corner. Heavier grades and a liner are the honest answer, not a lighter box.

Measure Twice

Sizing & dieline.

Every Hardware Parts Boxes is cut to a dieline built around your product — not pulled off a shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.

How to measure
01
Measure the product

Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points — not the box you happen to use today.

02
Add clearance

Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.

03
Give us the order

We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.

✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product — we measure it and build the dieline.

What It Costs

Hardware Parts Boxes is priced per specification rather than from a fixed list — the same box in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.

What moves the price
Quantity

The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.

Material and thickness

Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.

Finishing

Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.

Print coverage

Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.

Inserts and hardware

Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.

Timeline

Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

— Frequently Asked Questions —

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about Hardware Parts Boxes.

Because loose parts behave like a liquid.

A solid object sits still and presses downward. Loose screws, bolts and fixings flow — they shift with every movement and press outward against every seam and flap at the same time. Add real weight, because steel fasteners are extremely dense for their volume, and the pressure is constant and multidirectional.

So the failure is almost never the board face collapsing. It is a side glue seam or a base flap opening under outward pressure.

That changes what you should specify. Increasing board grade across the whole box adds cost everywhere and does relatively little at the seams. The effective fixes are:

  • A reinforced glue seam, with a wider bond area.
  • A full overlap base, so the base flaps support each other rather than relying on a single joint.

Both target the actual failure point, and both cost far less than upgrading the whole construction.
