Because loose fasteners flow outward under their own weight and push on the glue seam and base rather than loading the board evenly. Fasteners are not a solid mass. The failure is a seam or base burst, not a crushed box, so a reinforced glue seam and a full overlap base fix it better than a heavier board grade.

Sharp edges also puncture thin board, so the grade runs heavier anyway.

A vapour corrosion inhibitor paper or film that protects bare and plated steel while the box sits in a warehouse. Parts can be stored for months before sale, and the vapour stops rust forming in the box. It's lined into the carton before filling.

For quick-turnover trade stock it can be left out, and the plain E-flute box is enough.

With a compartment insert that holds each size in its own cell through transit. Mixed sizes in one box are worthless to the buyer, so the insert is standard on any assortment. The cells are sized to the count per size, and the lid closes over them so the box can be reclosed on site.

E-flute corrugated takes the compartment insert and the reinforced seams well.

Flexo in one or two colours, with gauge, length and count set large. Trade buyers select on those three figures, so they go above the brand. Kraft unprinted is the lowest cost and fine for trade supply. A barcode zone is placed to scan reliably at a counter.

Full CMYK is reserved for DIY retail packs, and material marking states steel grade and plating.

Common sizes are 4 by 3 by 2 inches and 6 by 4 by 3 inches. The box is sized to the count and the fastener length, with compartments for assortments. Small format keeps the weight per box manageable and stacks deep in trade racking without the bottom box crushing.

A run starts at 500 boxes. With flexo print and plain kraft the unit cost is low, and it drops further past 1,000. The VCI liner and compartment insert are quoted as options so trade and DIY versions can be costed together.

Bulk stackable formats can be combined with small retail boxes on one order.

Standard production takes 7 to 10 business days after artwork approval. If stock is short, a rush run is 5 to 7 business days. A sample takes 5 to 7 business days and the fee comes off the bulk order.

Fill the sample with the real fasteners and drop it once. If the corners split or the tuck flap springs open under the weight, you'll see it then rather than after the boxes reach a store shelf.

Yes, E-flute corrugated and kraft board go straight into paper recycling. The VCI paper liner is recyclable too, though a VCI film liner is not. A reinforced seam and full overlap base add board rather than plastic, so the pack stays a single material.

Unprinted kraft is the simplest spec and the most common in trade supply.
