With a moulded pulp insert formed to the shape, spreading support broadly so nothing touches at a single point. Point contact cracks ceramic and glass, and a die-cut board insert only touches an irregular item at a few points. Pulp follows the curve and keeps the piece clear of the walls that would chip it.

We don't quote die-cut board for curved items.

A construction that holds the item away from every wall of the box, so no impact reaches it directly. It's used for very fragile or awkward pieces where even a moulded cradle would put load on a weak point. The item is held on a film or board membrane in the centre of the carton.

It costs more than pulp and is reserved for high-fragility pieces.

To the route it actually travels, because most decor now ships direct and a retail-grade spec breaks in the parcel network. Direct-to-consumer handling is far harder than a palletised delivery to a shop. E-flute corrugated shipper outers are the standard for posted items.

The box is often delivered without a separate shipper, so it has to protect the item on its own.

Kraft natural is the most common, since it suits artisan and handmade decor without lamination. Matte lamination and foil detail step up to designer and gifting ranges. Full CMYK room photography works for retail. Inside print gives the unboxing moment for DTC and gifting.

A consistent range identity matters more than any one finish when the products differ so much.

Common sizes are 8 by 8 by 6 inches and 12 by 10 by 8 inches. Every item differs, so we usually build a small set of common outers and vary the insert per product. That keeps tooling manageable across a range while each piece gets its own cavity.

Send the items or their dimensions and we'll group them into outers.

Each outer size is made from 500 units. Because a range shares outers, several products can be pooled to reach that figure, with the insert changing per item. Pricing is tiered above 1,000, and moulded pulp tooling is charged once per insert shape.

Rigid gift versions are quoted separately from corrugated shippers.

Standard production is 7 to 10 business days from approved proofs. A rush order runs 5 to 7 business days. Samples take 5 to 7 business days, and that fee comes back as a credit on the production run.

We'd drop-test the sample with the actual item before the run, because fragile and irregular is the worst combination.

Yes, corrugated, folding boxboard and moulded pulp all go into paper recycling. Pulp inserts are made from recycled fibre in the first place. Kraft natural with no lamination is the cleanest spec, and it's already the most popular finish for the category.

Seasonal decor boxes tend to be kept for storage, so a rigid option is worth considering there.
