Because the brown board shows through every ink laid on it, and shifts each colour towards brown. Pale tints disappear, and a four-colour photograph loses its highlights.

This is the physics of an unbleached sheet, not a print fault. If you need accurate full-colour, a white wrap over the kraft body gives the natural edge with a clean print surface.

One or two colours, bold marks and generous type. Black, deep navy, a strong red and white all hold up. Fine detail and pastel shades do not.

Foil is the exception to the colour rule. Gold or copper foil on kraft gives exceptional contrast and is the finish most brands choose for the logo.

At the same thickness, yes. Virgin kraft has longer fibres than bleached board, so the wound wall is stiffer per caliper. You get the same crush resistance from a slightly thinner, lighter wall.

That is why the plain kraft tube is the founding format of the category. The strength is in the fibre, not in any coating or wrap.

Yes. Post-consumer waste grades are available for the wound body. The recycled ply is a little less stiff than virgin kraft, so we may add a ply to reach the same wall strength.

The surface of recycled kraft shows more fibre variation, which most natural brands like. If you want a consistent tone, a virgin kraft outer ply over a recycled core gives both.

Better than on almost any other stock. The matte brown surface makes a metallic foil read brighter by contrast, and the fibre texture shows softly through the foil edge.

Gold, copper and rose gold are the usual choices. Silver works too. We keep the foil area to a logo or a rule, because a large foil panel loses the natural look you chose kraft for.

300 units in one size and design. A plain kraft tube with a one-colour print is the lowest-cost build in the tube range, and the minimum is the same as any other.

Common sizes are 2 by 6, 3 by 9 and 4 by 12 inches, and any diameter can be wound to your product.

7 to 10 business days after approval, or 5 to 7 on rush, with samples in 5 to 7 business days. A one-colour kraft tube tends to sit at the fast end because there is less print to schedule.

The sample is worth ordering if you are printing colour on the kraft, because the brown shift is easier to judge on a real tube than on a screen proof.
