A board base slides up inside the wound barrel and carries the inner cup with the bullet. Pressing the base from below raises the product. It is a direct-pressure action rather than a twist.

Direct pressure is the most reliable mechanism in a fibre barrel, because there is no thread to wear in the paper. A twist-up version is available where the brief calls for it.

Not in most builds. The inner cup that holds the bullet and part of the mechanism usually stay plastic. The barrel, base and cap are fibre, so the pack is mostly paper by weight.

The claim that holds up is reduced plastic. We state on the spec exactly which parts are fibre and which are not, so the wording on your pack is accurate.

The tube is built to your bullet diameter, so the inner cup is matched to the product you already pour. The common build is 0.8 inches in diameter and 2.8 inches tall with a push-up base.

Because the cup is tooled to the bullet, we confirm the size at quote and on the sample. Send us a filled bullet or its dimensions and we build to it.

A friction fit between the fibre cap and the barrel. The tolerance is set on the sample so the cap seats with a light push and stays put in a bag.

Paper does not give the click of a plastic cap, so we set the fit slightly firmer than you might expect. That is one of the things the sample is for.

The full outside of the barrel and the cap, as one wrap-around litho print. The format is small, so we lay the artwork out for the curve and keep type large enough to read across it.

Foil on a matte wrap is the usual finish for the logo. Soft-touch lamination is available and is noticeable on something held in the fingers.

Because the mechanism, the cup and the cap fit are all tolerances that only show up in the hand. A push-up base that is stiff on one barrel diameter can be loose on another.

The sample takes 5 to 7 business days and is credited against the order. It is the single step that prevents a tooling change after the run.
