Reed Diffuser Boxes
A glass vessel and a bundle of reeds, two very different things sharing one carton.
Reeds are longer than the bottle and snap if unsupported. The carton has to hold both, and keep fragrance oil away from bare board.

Every detail. Intentional.
Reeds outrun the bottle
Length sets the box, not the glass.
Unsupported reeds snap
A channel or sleeve holds them.
Oil reaches board fast
Coated or lined interiors.
Bottle held upright
Spilled oil ruins the unit.
Scent name reads first
How the shelf is scanned.
Windows show the reeds

Built like architecture.
Every order of Reed Diffuser Boxes is an engineered build, measured, dieline-cut and hand-wrapped to spec. Below is the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Reed Diffuser Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Reed Diffuser Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Reed Diffuser Boxes.
The reeds go in their own channel or sleeve alongside the bottle, held parallel so they cannot bend. Loose reeds rattle around a tall carton and snap easily when it is knocked.
Because the reeds are longer than the bottle, their length sets the height of the box. The bottle sits on a platform seat low down, and the reed channel runs up beside it to the top.
A coated or lined interior keeps fragrance oil from soaking into the board if a drop escapes. Diffuser oil reaches bare paperboard fast and leaves a dark stain that spreads to the printed outside.
The bottle travels sealed with its transit cap, and the platform seat keeps it upright, so oil stays inside the glass. We treat the lining as a backup for the odd weep around a cap.
We keep the base footprint as wide as the design allows and seat the heavy bottle at the bottom, so the carton's weight sits low. A 9 or 11 in tall box with a narrow base tips easily when a shopper pulls the one beside it.
A square footprint helps more than a slim rectangle. For magnetic gift builds, the rigid board adds weight to the base as well.
Diffuser boxes tend to borrow from interiors, with palettes chosen to sit well in a room and textures like linen-effect paper. The scent name should read first on the face, since that is how shoppers scan a home fragrance shelf.
Soft-touch lamination, hot foil and embossing all work on this carton, and a ribboned presentation of the reeds suits gift ranges. For housewarming gifts, a magnetic rigid build turns the box into part of the present.
Common sizes are about 3 × 3 × 9 in and 3.5 × 3.5 × 11 in, both set by the height of the reeds rather than the bottle. We measure your longest reed and the bottle with its cap, then work out the channel and seat.
If two bottle sizes in your range share the same reed length, their boxes may share a height and differ only in footprint. The dieline drawing is free.
Diffuser boxes are made in runs starting at 500. The upper end is 100,000, which leaves plenty of room as a home fragrance line grows.
For a range of several scents, one structure with printed variations for each fragrance keeps the setup simple and builds a strong colour block when the boxes stand together on the shelf.
A sample takes 5 to 7 business days, and the full run is done 7 to 10 business days after you approve it. If a retailer pulls your date forward, the rush option finishes the run in 5 to 7 business days.
Sampling matters for this format because we need to check the reed channel, the bottle seat and the shelf stability together. The sample fee is set against your order when production goes ahead.
We grip the vessel at the base and around the shoulder so the insert never rubs the decorated sides. Matte ceramic, painted glass and textured finishes mark easily when they move against board in transit.
The reeds and cap travel separately in a sleeve or small compartment, which keeps them from scratching the surface. A magnetic rigid gift build adds another layer of protection for premium vessels.
