Square Paper Tubes.

A rigid board wall is formed into a square or rectangular section, then wrapped in printed paper. It is closer in construction to a rigid box than to a spiral-wound tube.

The corners are the structural difference. A formed corner is where the wall is stiffest, so the square tube resists crushing across its faces the way a carton does.

Yes. Square sections tessellate with no wasted gap, so more units fit on a shelf and in a shipping carton. Round tubes always leave a gap between them.

That is why the format is chosen for retail programmes where shelf space is paid for by the inch.

A flat face gives artwork somewhere to sit rather than curving away, so the whole panel reads at once. Fine detail, photographs and small type all hold up better than on a curve.

Four faces also mean four panels to plan. Most brands put the brand on the front, the variant on the sides and the regulatory copy on the back.

Yes. The rigid wall takes a printed wrap inside as well as out, which a wound tube cannot. A coloured interior is the usual use.

Inside print is specified as a separate wrap and quoted as its own line, so you can see what it adds.

Common builds are 2 by 2 by 6 inches and 3 by 3 by 8 inches. Square and rectangular sections are formed to your product, so any width, depth and height can be specified.

A square tube needs three figures rather than a diameter and a height. Send the product and we measure it for you.

A telescoping lid over a base, or fitted end caps. The telescoping lid gives the slow lift of a rigid box. Caps give a lighter, lower-cost close.

The lid fit is set on the sample, as with any rigid-wall pack.
